You are lucky you are not my daughter. You'd be rethinking every word of that post. Perhaps you feel awkward because you can clearly see the sign and you are aware that for 2 more years you should not be in the Cove Cafe. Not because of "people like you" who have actually coughed up hard earned dollars to pay for a great vacation that does not come cheap, and therefore have earned special privileges.

Perhaps your attitude will change after you start paying for your own vacations.

I only hope that discussions of inconsiderate... or maybe I should say those that are rational within their own reality, do not deter others from enjoying a DCL vacation. There are a lot of people who have a lot of different values and beliefs. But as it goes, don't worry about what other peole do. What you do is all that matters. That post does bring up a valid point though, that they should offer those types of drinks a a kid accessible location. If Cove is the only place to get them, then DCL kind of set themselves up to fail. I do agree that the coffee on deck is undrinkable, I will miss the concierge coffee

The child should go to Mom and/or Dad to request said beverage. Mom or Dad then gets beverage for child. No rules broken and everyone is happy.

Edit to say Waves also tends to have smoothly type drinks that can be made "virgin" and is on a family deck.

Totally true..... the Vista cafe is available to EVERYONE regardless of age. They also have the same types of snacks available. No need for the kids to go to the Cove Cafe

It's only available if the machine isn't broke. Like I said it was down in the vista a few times last week. DD was told to go to the Cove. Since I never went to Cove til later on the trip I really had no idea it was adult only. The crew had to know she was underage when told to go there because she had her Vibe card out. So there may be a reason a kid might be in there. Funny though as I doubt anyone would think DD is under 18.

CMs don't always look at the cards closely unless someone says something.

Just like the "pre-saving chairs by the pool debate", the fault for this falls directly on the CM who served this woman and her under aged children! That CM should have addressed the issue immediately by politely reminding this woman that it was an adults only area! Of course, Disney probably wouldn't have let them for fear of a future gripe!

We were on the Magic this Summer and one evening I darted out to the restroom outside of Carioca's and there were a bunch of children fooling around in there. I just turned around and walked out but the bathroom attendant followed me and apologized and said that she was not allowed to tell them to stop. So I went back in and very sternly told the little girl who was preventing another child from leaving the stall to "stop that right now". She looked as shocked as if I had slapped her across the face. The attendant thanked me sincerely (again outside of the restroom) for stepping in.

I usually ignore bad behavior unless someone is in jeopardy of getting hurt but I felt very badly for the attendant and will remember what she said in the future.

Not entirely. Some fault lays with the parents who are unable understand "Adults Only".

True but it happened 3 different times last week. And she used the card to pay in the Cove. I imagine if you look old enough and are just there to grab a quick coffee the CMs don't care.

In Disney Aulani, witnessed several times in the adult only hot tub, children asked to leave by CM's thankfully!.. Expect the same on Disney Cruises!

I agree that kids should stay out of the adult areas. However, you chose to go on a Disney cruise. You knew there would be tons of kids on the cruise. I think many of you are getting bent out of shape that CMs & parents can't keep kids out of the adult areas 100% of the time. I don't blame CMs for not using gestapo tactics to try to invoke a zero tolerance policy with the adult areas.

My wife and I love the adult areas of the ships, but we recognize kids are going to wander in there from time to time. There going to bend/break the rules. Oh well, it doesn't impact our enjoyment of the cruise, like it appears to with some of you.

My 15 year old daughter read this thread today on the way to her allergy shot. She was 11 on our cruise and reminded me she always waited outside because she was "afraid of the sign." I remember her begging me to hurry because she was scared. She's a straight A student, had the lead in the schools musical, so she's a good kid that does not feel safe alone. I really feel awful that I made her uncomfortable just so I could have an iced coffee in the morning. She was apprehensive of the kids club, I'm glad I cancelled our Palo reservation. I'm going to look back a few pages here to find the alternative Magic location someone mentioned where she can walk in with me this time, so she doesn't have to feel like she's lurking around. I only got 3 punches on my card during my 7 day trip, now I remember why. I went on a family vacation. I didn't know then they had a second area on the Magic that serves coffee drinks. This trip I'm getting 7 iced coffees in 7 days! On what appears to be a side note of this thread....I got to sit on a lounge chair one day on that cruise, it's was about 3:30/4:00ish and I found empty chairs with no "stuff." No matter what... I still feel that was the best vacation of my life.
