So, my family just finished up a 4-day visit to Disneyland and we stayed at the new Courtyard. I know a lot of folks are interested in this new hotel so here are some thoughts:
We stayed in a King Suite. Room 531. Very large 3 room suite. All the king suites are located in the back of the hotel. Ours faced the Hojo.
When you come into the suite, there is a small hallway leading to the living area. It has a dining table that seats 4 people, with a microwave (we had to plug it in!) and a mini-fridge. Below the fridge are cabinets that we used to store snacks. There is a keurig coffee maker. Also in this room is a banquette style seating area with a table that we ended up using for eating and watching tv. It wraps around two sides of the room. The room also had an arm chair and ottoman and a dresser that we used for clothes.
There is a hallway with woodgrain tile that leads to a "room" on the right that has no door. This is the room that has two bunk beds. It has two windows located up high, with vertical blinds and no blackout curtains, which is a bummer because our four year old traveling companion wakes up with the sun
It does not have a closet or a dresser, which we found inconvenient.
On the left hand side of the hall is the bathroom. The bathroom setup is a little odd - immediately inside is a tub/shower combo and a double sink console. Inside this room is another door, behind which is the toilet and a walk in shower.
At the end of the hallway is the King bedroom. This room has the bed, two night stands, a small table, ottoman and dresser. It has a good size closet with a safe. The noise from the freeway is fairly loud in this room.
General observations - the beds are REALLY great. We met the General Manager our first day here and he said they splurged on the same beds used by the Ritz.
In the same conversation we told the GM about the lack of blackout shades in twin room and he said that will be remedied soon. I also mentioned that our room didn't have a full length mirror in it. The second day we came back from the parks and voila! We had a mirror in the entryway. Talk about great service.
This customer service emphasis showed in many aspects of our stay. Everyone, from the front desk to the coffee bar to the housekeeping staff, was incredibly friendly and helpful.
Oh, and the waterpark was a big hit. As others have mentioned, it is lacking in shade. Our preschool friend LOVED the various slides and water features and pronounced the area "amazing"
I know this is pretty detailed but feel free to ask questions and I'll do my best to answer!
