Courthouse

Can anyone tell me directions to the courthouse from WDW? The easiest way please LOL...I called the courthouse yesterday to ask them but they weren't much assistance. We will be going there a day before we get married - is that enough time?

Also - I was married once before (divorced in 2000)...is it true that I only need the DATE I was divorced and not the decree??? We're not from FL, if that matters.

Hi it maybe best just to get a taxi, thats what im doing as i know i'd get lost!

I think you can order one through disney or get a number for a cab firm easily. I'm getting our licence on the friday (we arrive thursday night) and we get married on the monday, we cant get it on the weekend so like you we really only have one day to get it...eak!

Hope you can get good directions but if you cant i say get a taxi and save the stress for your big day

I used the directions that the Disney packet gave me. VERY VERY EASY. We went to Orange County. If you need them, let me know I will email them to you. There was great parking and we found the office so easily. We were there and back within and hour and 20 min or so?

It is true that all you need is the date of divorce. I brought the paperwork and they wanted nothing to do with them. I could have made up the date for all they knew! There are 3 different dates on my paperwork...when the judge signed, when it left the office and when it was filed. They wanted when the judge signed the paperwork.

We went to Osceola Courthouse again using the directions that Disney gave us and I'm from the UK and found it very easy to drive there.

Because I had been divorced for over a year the courthouse wasn't interested in my "decree absolute" but I'd taken it just in case.

I'd steer away from the taxi idea. I didn't realize how expensive it was going to be to drive 13 miles!! It was $50 to go one way with me and DH. Needless to say, when the taxi service didn't show up afterwards and we had to wait 2 hours for my father to come, I was happy to wait instead of wasting another $50

We got married in March of this year, and we went to the Kissimmee Courthouse. It took 10 minutes to get there and 10 minutes to get back on a Thursday morning. We got there when they opened! I went to the courthouse website and printed directions (same as Disney's). Not sure about the divorce papers, but it cant hurt to have all the info just in case!

Just out of interest which courthouse did you go to, Orange County or Osceola?

I believe Osceola it was the one in Kissimee
