SUMLTHOMP- Mailed your envelope yesterday.

FINALLY!! Got my coupons (and ads) last night when I got home from work! :cool1:

Clipped and in the mail to today!!

 Where's the melting into a puddle smiley? Whew, that's hot. Stay hydrated and no pulling weeds in the garden today, HMM! ;)

supposed to be cooler today...I should be getting into work and setting up my classroom some more anyway, instead of staying home and griping about the heat. Have such a hard time letting go of summer break!

HMCFALL711 - Envie mailed today. Not nearly as big as last week, but a good size. Sunshine74 wasn't able to get her envie out to me until late last week. Depending on when I get it, I may send a 2nd envie later this week.

HMCFALL711 - Received Sunshine74's envie today, so I've put a 2nd envie together to go out tomorrow.

Thanks for posting I be on the look out. :lovestruc

You know, I don't usually announce when anyone leaves the train, but I feel like I must make an exception and let everyone know we're losing one of our pioneer train riders VSIMEONE. Valerie has ridden the train since its inception in November, 2008! :goodvibes We'll miss you, Valerie. :grouphug:
We'll miss you!

SUMLTHOMP- Mailed your envelope yesterday.
Welcome! sorry I didn't post Monday that I had mailed it.

So here is my coupon drama for the week. I bought two papers while out of town so I could mail Quasi's envie as usual. One had a very small insert and the other had last week's insert. :confused3 Well, I clipped those anyways. I knew I had the newest ones at home.

I had scoped out a post office, I thought. On our way home Monday, we drove up 98 and when we got to what I thought was a post office, it wasn't there. A postal sign and an empty store front. :confused3 Frustrating, but I knew I had seen another one up the road, so off we went. and went and went. It became rather comical (to me, but not DS who was driving :lmao:) Finally I saw a sign with an arrow, began motioning rather frantically, turn here, turn here. Took us a bit and a couple of turn arounds, but we finally found it. And then there was a line. a really loooooong line. :faint: But I waited and was successful in getting my envie mailed. :yay: A note to anyone visiting in the Destin/Panama City area, scope out where the post office is 'cause it isn't on hwy 98. We went all the way to Fort Walton before we found one. :rotfl2:

I got home and one of the first things I do is check my papers. First one has two inserts, second one has a note on the front "Coupons inside guarranteed with home delivery only". That's why we do home delivery. :thumbsup2 I searched for the coupons......and none. So I took my paper to the paper office and requested the coupons and missing ads. The lady kind of looked at me for a minute like she wanted to say something, but she finally went into the back and came out with some. It was only one coupon insert and not the P&G. Oh well. I never had thought to ask before when they were missing in the past.

Vannigirl A heafty envie will be on it's way tomorrow.

I have read a few posts lately on this thread and others about inserts missing in the newspapers that are home delivered. Very frustrating! I think ours are automated and machines put our inserts inside the papers but I know I've read that some delivery people have to insert them by hand. I'm sure that could lead to human error or theft of the inserts. I've always wondered where coupon clipping services get multiple (sometimes advertising hundreds available) copies to clip and sell? I also think the extreme couponing cable TV programs led too many people down the wrong path and promoted dishonesty. Thank you for being so conscientious trying to find that p.o.! :worship:

Just wanted to check in.

Coupon Savings today: $6.60

Really cool, because the above is just on Organic Milk, OJ, and Baby Wipes! :woohoo:

You're right; it's not just the weight of the envelope that matters.

Just an FYI for all our train riders. How thick an envelope is is also really important. If your envie is 1/4" or less, it's considered a "small" envelope and is the cheapest size to mail. If your envie is between 1/4" and 3/4" it's considered a "large" envie and there's extra postage required on it. If your envie is over 3/4" it's considered a package and requires still more postage. If I have a lot of coupons to mail, I usually use a manila 5" x 7" or 6" x 8" envelope. Then I take an 8 1/2 x 11" piece of paper and try to space out the coupons in the middle of it as flat as possible. Then I told over the two sides so that it fits the size of the manila envelope. I don't usually succeed at making it only a 1/4" thick but can usually get it under 3/4" if I space out the coupons carefully.

I also found out if you have a metal clasp on the envelope, it is also an additional charge. The postal worker I had last week said that I should remove it to save some money because I guess they get caught in the machine. With all the rules, it is no wonder the post office is losing money - no one can figure out how much it is to ship a piece of mail!!!

DisneyWalleI received one envie today. I will let you know when the other arrives. Thank you!

ShiPooI think you are right on the theft of coupon inserts. First thing I thought of was someone came by and took them before the paper was brought in. The gas station closes to me has some papers inside and some outside in boxes. There is a notice up that Sunday papers will all be inside now due to coupon theft. :sad2:

8/2
$19.00

8/3
$1.00

Fofinia:
I am really sorry, but I did not get your two envies mailed out until today.

I hope you are receiving okay, otherwise. Let me know if there is any problem.
Thanks, Arin

Mailed, lost lots in it due to experations... At least 80 coupons, too bad I don't know any overseas military to pass them on to

Good point! I also understand that covering the metal clasp with tape isn't good enough. It has to be pulled out of the envelope. :confused3
