HMCFALL711 - Envie mailed today. Not nearly as big as last week, but a good size. Sunshine74 wasn't able to get her envie out to me until late last week. Depending on when I get it, I may send a 2nd envie later this week.

You have a very nice DH.my husband also brought some home from work (he's got his coworkers bringing in their inserts!), so I've put together another envie and will mail it tomorrow.

SUMLTHOMP- Mailed your envelope yesterday.
So here is my coupon drama for the week. I bought two papers while out of town so I could mail Quasi's envie as usual. One had a very small insert and the other had last week's insert.Well, I clipped those anyways. I knew I had the newest ones at home.
I had scoped out a post office, I thought. On our way home Monday, we drove up 98 and when we got to what I thought was a post office, it wasn't there. A postal sign and an empty store front.Frustrating, but I knew I had seen another one up the road, so off we went. and went and went. It became rather comical (to me, but not DS who was driving
) Finally I saw a sign with an arrow, began motioning rather frantically, turn here, turn here. Took us a bit and a couple of turn arounds, but we finally found it. And then there was a line. a really loooooong line.
But I waited and was successful in getting my envie mailed.
A note to anyone visiting in the Destin/Panama City area, scope out where the post office is 'cause it isn't on hwy 98. We went all the way to Fort Walton before we found one.
I got home and one of the first things I do is check my papers. First one has two inserts, second one has a note on the front "Coupons inside guarranteed with home delivery only". That's why we do home delivery.
I searched for the coupons......and none.
So I took my paper to the paper office and requested the coupons and missing ads. The lady kind of looked at me for a minute like she wanted to say something, but she finally went into the back and came out with some. It was only one coupon insert and not the P&G. Oh well. I never had thought to ask before when they were missing in the past.
You're right; it's not just the weight of the envelope that matters.
Just an FYI for all our train riders. How thick an envelope is is also really important. If your envie is 1/4" or less, it's considered a "small" envelope and is the cheapest size to mail. If your envie is between 1/4" and 3/4" it's considered a "large" envie and there's extra postage required on it. If your envie is over 3/4" it's considered a package and requires still more postage. If I have a lot of coupons to mail, I usually use a manila 5" x 7" or 6" x 8" envelope. Then I take an 8 1/2 x 11" piece of paper and try to space out the coupons in the middle of it as flat as possible. Then I told over the two sides so that it fits the size of the manila envelope. I don't usually succeed at making it only a 1/4" thick but can usually get it under 3/4" if I space out the coupons carefully.
I also found out if you have a metal clasp on the envelope, it is also an additional charge. The postal worker I had last week said that I should remove it to save some money because I guess they get caught in the machine. With all the rules, it is no wonder the post office is losing money - no one can figure out how much it is to ship a piece of mail!!!
