Coupon Train ~~ New Riders Welcome!

Princesspaige, I forgot to post that I sent your envelope. I sent it a bit late, sorry about that.

I just have to take a minute and have a little rant. I went to Target today to use my $10 off Disney Rewards Coupons for Tinkerbell Lost Treasures and G-Force along with the $5 Target coupons. Went through the line and the young boy who rang me up was new. The 2 Target coupons rang up no problem. Well... he had a hard time getting the Tinkerbell coupon to ring up. So he tried to hand key it in. I saw that twice it asked him to enter the amount of the coupon (I don't know why he didn't just key in the $10) but he cleared it out and finally asked one of the front line managers to come over. She said that we can't take it. I told her that I have used the Disney Movie Rewards coupons and they have always just had to hand key in the numbers. She said we can't to that. I said but they have at least 5 times in the past year. She said we can loose our job for coupon fraud, and my job is not worth $10. So asked if he could try the G-Force coupon. She said NO! Don't try the other it will be the same anyway. She will have to pay full price. I said no, thank you and left all of my items there in the line.

I am usually not a person who gets  about these kind of things but she was not professional AT ALL. She came over with a chip on her shoulder and was loud and hateful the entire time. The poor young man looked like a scolded child and kept looking at me with an I'm sorry kind of face.

If she and been more sympathetic or kind I may have been ok with it and just let them keep the movies, but she was RUDE and I had a line of 5-6 people behind me. I was not about to have a yelling contest with her, but I was not going to pay $30 extra for things that were going to be stocking stuffers for my neices either.

This is the first time Target has been ugly about using coupons, even though I have heard others say they have been bad at their stores. She was worst than bad though, I could not understand why she thought she had to be so tough and loud. I am not easily embarassed but lots of people were we turning to see why she was so loud. It was terrible.

When I got to the car where DH was waiting, I literally had to take a minute before I could tell him because I was so mad. I told him that they were really lucky that they got me because if they had gotten my mom, she would have gone off. She will go toe to toe with someone over a coupon. I think this is the reason I am not one to argue about them. Maybe she should have been there today. DH said just take the coupons to Wal-Mart and after Target looses enough business maybe they will see it differently.

Rant offically over. Thanks.

I'm sorry she was so rude about it, maybe she was having a bad day and took it out on you. Does not justify it but I've dealt with it too. You go in a store thinking about your great deal and they treat you like your trying to steal it. I think you handled it like a grown-up, good for you. Maybe call and talk to the upper management?

I agree with Micday. You handled it in a mature way when it happened, but I think reporting her to the district manager would be justifiable. Target doesn't want to lose sales to Walmart, but they need to be informed or they won't know why you're taking your business elsewhere. She shouldn't get away with treating a customer in such a rude and unprofessional manner.

PurpleSurfer, one more envie arrived today~~~many thanks for all of them received this week.

Hmcfall711, I will get an envie ready to mail on Monday to you.

As far as I know, there will be no inserts in the newspapers tomorrow or on December 27th. Therefore, the next two weeks are optional for you to send coupons to your train buddy. If you do send them, please post on our thread so your train buddy knows they're heading her way. TIA, Everyone! :thumbsup2

The next REQUIRED mailing day is January 4th. There should be several inserts in the January 3rd newspapers. :yay:

hmcfall711-I had trouble with Target one time (I am a huge Target fan) and made sure I left a message with the store manager the next day (it was after 9 PM when our troubles happened) to make sure I was calm enough to talk to him. I started the message with how I love Target and their employees and how they have always had superior customer service but I was greatly disappointed in the service I received the night before. Our situation involved a half hour price check that involved 3 not so nice employees (including the shift manager) in a nearly empty Target.

The store manager called me back almost immediately and started out trying to say it couldn't be that shift manager because she's up for her own store. :confused3 I told him that usually she is good but the night before she was cranky and out of sorts. Working with him calmly I was able to resolve the situation (and got a $25 gc out of it...not what I was aiming for but I took it) without taking it up farther up the chain....which I was willing to do.

Hope the issue gets resolved.

I agree with babytrees. You need to call the store and report what happened.

My husband works for Target, and when a customer (or "guest" as they call us) has an issue, and resolves it peacefully, they're more likely to get what they want (versus an ugly, rude, mean-spirited guest). Last week, he said there was a woman who called to inquire about the Barbie Dream House. The employee in Toys who took her call looked up on his PDA and saw that the store was supposed to have one in stock, so he told her he'd hold it at Guest Services for her (not knowing for sure that it was on the shelf). Well, either he forgot, or he couldn't find it, so when the lady came in later that day to get it, she was TICKED. She cussed out the employees, and the store manager had to come out to try to appease her. She left in a huff, and he tried to chase her down to give her a $25 gift card, but she had already gotten in her car and driven away.

Now, had that lady been more patient, she would've gotten a FREE $25 to use towards that item at another store.

I agree about the coupon thing though. I had an employee (and a Team Leader) at one of our local Targets deny taking my Internet-generated coupon before. They told me something about not being allowed to take coupons that were printed from the computer. I fought them on it because they were TARGET coupons, printed from Target.com.

This was taken right from their website:
We gladly accept valid internet coupons

I was able to use the G-Force Target $5 coupon and the Manufacturer's $10 coupon today. I even said as I handed the employee the coupons, "Here is a manufacturer's coupon, and here is a Target store coupon." and he never even blinked. If you need to, you can always tell the manager when (if) you call that a Team Leader at another store allowed a friend of yours (me ;) ) to use both coupons.

By the way, I didn't know there was a coupon for Tinkerbell. Can someone post the link for me?

Thanks!

Thanks, Gretchen. When I googled it, all I could find were coupons that expired in October.

By the way, the link you gave me went to the coupon printer, but when I clicked on "Print Coupons" it wouldn't do anything. I actually had to go log into my Disney Movie Rewards account and get the coupon that way. No worries!

Dznybound-got your envie a few days ago.

Sarasmom97-mailed yours a few days ago.

Have a great holiday everyone!

Off to shop!

Sorry this happened to you.:confused3 I just got back from being able to use both coupons on my Tink Blue Ray/DVD Combo. Total cost, after coupons, $4.99. I wasn't sure if it would work but I just handed both to the cashier and she scanned them in. At first I thought it didn't work when I didn't see the coupon on the receipt but then I noticed that the BR/DVD rang up as $14.99 (instead of the sale price of $19.99) and then the $10 off coupon was listed below. Both coupons scanned without a problem.

Can you try another Target? I checked out through Garden since there wasn't a line.

BTW, I would complain to management and/or corporate. Her rudeness was uncalled for as was her comment that her job wasn't worth risking for $10 for you. Completely uncalled for and something not to be tolerated.

Thank you to everyone who posted their experiences, suggestions, and support.

I will be out again tomorrow. I think I will go back in and ask to speak with the manager. I completely agree with the statement... I was made to feel as if I was stealing. I know we all have bad days and I was not about to meet her on that level, but the more I have thought about it (along with everyone's comments) I really think that they should know how she behaved. I am sure that I was not the only person she treated that way.

Hmcfall711, I went to the 24/7 mail machine to mail your envie today because I have a feeling there will be a long line again tomorrow morning at the p.o. Be sure to open it asap because there are a lot of 12/31 expirations in it. Hope there will be some you can use.

Good luck at Target tomorrow. If it worked just fine for Dizneydaz at her Target, it should've worked just fine for you! Tell them the whole coupon train supports you!! :thumbsup2 Let us know how it goes, okay?

Princesspaige, I think I forgot to post that I got your envelope on Thursday...

Stahshee, I sent out an envelope to you today but won't send one out next week since it's optional.
