Coupon Policies of Different Stores

I bought some items at Target and had some coupons. The cashier told me Target only accepts one coupon per item. Some time has passed. I was looking at their on-line coupons and looked up their coupon policy. Come to find out, they do accept manufacturers coupon and online coupons.

So now I'm wondering what other cashiers have told me misinformation. I was told the same thing at Kroger. I did look for their policy online but couldn't find it (other than the online coupons). I think the next time I go to the store, I'll ask either the manager or customer service.

I know some stores vary in policy. But generally speaking a national or large chain should have the same policy shouldn't it? Have you had a similar experience?

All stores of a chain do not necessarily have the same policy, and online and in-store policies do not necessarily match. State laws vary, and store policies can change at any time. Some chains, such as Shop-Rite, consist of stores that are individually owned and operated, so one store may have a different policy than the next. That being said, not all cashiers in a store interpret policies the same way.

I haven't shopped at Target in some time, but awhile back they would accept one manuf coupon and one target coupon on the same item. If your online coupon is a manuf coupon, you can not use it with another manuf coupon. This is true for most if not all the stores I have shopped in the past.

So basically a store/manuf can be used on same item. 2 manuf coupons can not be used on same item.

Most large chaines do have the same overall coupon policy, but it can be up to the store manager's discretion to accept or decline any coupon. I very rarely have any issues with coupons except online coupons. A lot of stores are restricting use, such as no free internet printable coupons or any dollar value of a certain amount or over the amount of the item.

I would definitely stop and speak to the customer service counter or mana ger. They are ususally very good about helping you. I have even pulled my coupons out and asked questions.

I think I'm going to start doing that. I rarely remember to bring my coupons with me. But when I do, I'd like to get the benefit from having them. I don't even have that many, but I'd like to start using them more.
