We are staying on points so this is where we are staying. We have stayed at CCI (LOVE IT THERE) and the Ramada (fine for my first trip with a friend of mine before the kids came, probably wouldn't do it again but it was FINE for $45).
It is just DH and I this trip we are only going for 1 night. Were leaving on a cruise the next day. We arrive early Sunday and will be going to DL that afternoon (around 2pm)and evening (open until 11pm). DH has never been to DLR and I wanted to share it with him.
I was wondering if there are reviews out there for the Fairfield Inn. How are the beds? Is it right across the street from the entrance?
Also I was thinking of having Dinner at Brennen's? How is the food? Do you think it will take to much time out of our day?
Thanks for any input.

A review from just today! http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1682010

If I were doing a one day (less than one day!) trip, I would probably eat inside one of the parks, rather than going into DTD. I'm not sure if the food is the same, but they both say "New Orleans" to me, so I'd go with Cafe Orleans rather than Ralph Brennans, personally. You also get the fun of sitting in New Orleans Square and people-watching. It's lovely in there, IMO.

This map can show you where Fairfield is in relation to the entrance plaza. I wasn't totally paying attention, but when we stayed at HoJo's, I remember that Fairfield was sort of down the McDonald's driveway. It looks behind things in that map, but I think it's just a really "deep" entrance. But I wasn't really paying attention!

Have fun!

Let me start off by saying I work for Marriott and got 2 free nights at the Fairfield Inn for our DL trip. I also have a young toddler.

I would not pay to stay here for the following reasons:

1. No continental breakfast.
2. waaaay too loud when the fireworks go off (we have a toddler who goes to bed early, so this was an issue for us).
3. When at full capacity, parking is hard to find.
4. No closet with doors and fridge is incredibly small and not very cold

What we liked:

1. clean room
2. friendly staff
3. 6 minute walk to front gate of DL

If it's just for one night, I'd say go for it if the rates are cheap enough. Nothing BAD about it, but not what I would pick if I was paying.

Have fun whatever you decide!

Haha! That was my review that bumbershoot posted. We also ate at Ralph Brennan's. I was quite underwhelmed by it. We were there for lunch though. Maybe it's better for dinner. Here's another thread about that that I posted on. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1682552 The menu sounded very good and the food looked delicious. It was just ok. We enjoyed eating on the patio though on a gorgeous day.

We only had one day in the parks (but the whole day). We ran out of time to do CA Screamin. And I would have liked to have done a few things more than once. We got a lot in in the morning so I assummed the afternoon would be the same. Everything was more crowded in the pm. If I knew that, I wouldn't have made the trek over to DTD for lunch. I would have just gotten something quick in the park.

Thanks for the tips. The Fairfield inn is free for us so I guess that makes the price right! LOL It is just DH and I so the noise and fridge aren't an issue this trip. Most important is the location.
I think I may switch to Cafe Orleans. We thought we may want a drink (adult beverage) so that is why I though of going to DTD. I think we can hold off a night thouh. LOL
Maybe we will try Cafe Orleans. Is carnation cafe open then? We went in May and 1 day it was open and really good the next it was closed? Thanks
Heidi
