We are taking our first trip to DL this May! I was hoping to get some input. We go to Disneyworld every year but have very little knowledge on DL.
Questions
1. How will the crowds be in the beginning of May. We are going the 8th & 9th.
2. I have a DD3 who loves the characters the most! I would love any hints on when & where to catch the characters. I know that I can get a schedule. Do you have any other tips or any musts?
3. I have read a little on this Princess Fantasy Faire. I hear the crowds are crazy. Is this worth going to? I really was just thinking about going to the character greeting part. Is this possiable? I am going to the character meal at Ariel's Grotto as well.

THANKS SO MUCH!!

I'm not sure about crowds...

As for characters, you can always check city hall to find out who will be out when. I've always just randomly seen characters at the beginning of main street, near the castle and in Toon Town.

If you are going to Ariels, you might not need to go to the Princess Faire, which I've heard can get quite crowded. You could always plan on doing ariels early in your trip, and if you want to meet more, you could shoot for the princess faire on another day?

You can also see the one show in DCA (I can't for the life of me remember what it is called) that you will see 3 characters guaranteed.

I was in the DLR last year from during the second week of May (on a Sun-thurs) and it was great. The crowds were just moderate and we pretty much walked on things or had a very short wait. The 8th will probably be pretty uncrowded so I would suggest trying to do most of DL then and then save most of DCA for Friday when DL will be more crowded.

You will have a great time! It was pretty hot last year, so be prepared. I am sorry I don't know anything about the Princess party, and I don't have any tips on the characters, but make sure you see the Aladdin show if you haven't already- I am sure your daughter will love that. Have fun!

Thanks so much! We were thinking the same thing about DL being more crowded on that Friday! I am so glad to hear that it might not be to crowded! The Aladin show looks great, do we need to arrive real early for that? Keep the tips coming!!! THANKS!

The Princess Fantasy Faire is in the back of the park by It's a Small World. The line does get long and moves very slowly. You are not guaranteed (sp?) which ones will be there and they will change several times before you get to the front of the line. That being said, the line is shaded, there is a place to get snacks and drinks and there is a bathroom right by the que. Also, if you have little girls, they will have a wonderful time!. We saw Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and Pochahontas. They all took their time with the photos but Cinderella was the best. She talked with DD4 for a LONG time about her t-shirt and all sorts of things. Then there is also the story-telling behind the area where you meet the princesses. We caught the end of Snowwhite. The story-telling area is also beautiful and a great place for pictures. To the side of that is an area to do some sort of craft I think or to have your little princess's hair done for a fee. We skipped this part.

Of course Ariel's Grotto for lunch or dinner is another place to catch multiple princesses, and you can sit and eat instead of waiting in a long line.

The Aladdin and Jasmine story-telling in Adventure land is a good place to get autogrphs and pics with Aladdin and Jasmine. They had the kids line up immediately after they show and hurried them along because they need to clear out before the next show but our pics turned out great.

Another good spot is Minnie and Friend's breakfast - which I LOVE, or Goofy's Kitchen, which I haven't been to in many years. You might want to search around for reviews. I find that doing the meal is a nice time to relax, people watch, and get in lots of characters that you might otherwise have to chase around the park.

It's possible, each part of the Faire is separate and you can pick and choose what you do. But so you know, it's the character greeting part that IS the crazy bit. :)

If your girl wants to meet princesses outside of Ariel's, go for it, but let her know she has to be OK with meeting ANY princess.

Heck, my 3 year old boy had a great time meeting the princesses (his idea, we would have preferred to stay away from the Faire)! :)

Mickey's House in ToonTown is going to be your friend for other characters. They also hang out outside his house as well, so have your camera (and autograph book if she's into that) ready when in TT!

If she likes Buzz, each time I've been there, the Times Guide has times for Buzz Lightyear's appearances in Tomorrowland, by the way.

Thank you everyone for all this great info! I am a huge planner & usually have over a year to plan for WDW. This is kind of last minute & I am not so good at that!

The good news with the size of the parks, and ease of park hoping you will find DLR much easy to do on the spur of the moment.

Have a great time!
