I just have a couple of questions about YC concierge...

1) Do you go to the front desk for check-in or do you check-in at a separate area like the Poly?

2) Are the rooms standard size rooms?

Thanks for any info you can share.

Answers:

Unless you arrive after the concierge desk closes (10:00 pm), you check-in on the 5th floor at the concierge desk.

Rooms are standard size.

Once you make your concierge reservations, just get in touch with the IPO department. I can forward you the e-mail address if you need it. The girls here, Alana ~ Amy ~ Angie & Lauren are all excellent. They'll be happy to send you out a wonderful packet with park maps, recreation guides, resort information, a concierge questionnaire and a key that you just need to slide into the slot on the elevator before pushing the 5th floor button. As Madalex mentioned, the concierge staff is only duty from 7am-10pm, so if you arrive at the resort after that, check-in will be done at the front desk.

I think the BC is one of the only resorts that actually has slightly bigger concierge rooms. I would definitely request a room on the lake side though, whether you have garden or water view reserved. Unfortunately, we were on the front side and overlooked the parking lot and convention roof, yuck.

Thanks so much for your responses! I will definately request a room on the lakeside! :wizard: pirate: :flower: :moped: :grouphug: :cheer2: :love1: :3dglasses

Can you tell my son is here...he wanted me to add all these smilies!

Thanks again!

This is one of my favorite things about YC Concierge. Check-in is so easy. It really makes you feel special when you just walk right in, go to the elevator with your "special" little card and then they greet you as soon as you walk off of the elevator. Use your pre-planning staff. They really are the best on property. I've never had a difficult check in at YC.

Contact the pre-planning office and they'll send it to you. It comes in either a welcome letter or a packet of information. Save it and remember where you put it before leaving for vacation. LOL!

Are you supposed to get the little card for access to the elevator before you arrive at YC or when you get there?

I really appreciate all the info you have all provided!

It comes to your home in the mail before you get there.

YC Fan-

You are quick. I should have seen that from your previous post. I just e-mailed YC concierge to request a key. We booked our stay so close to our arrival date that we never got a welcome packet.

I am really looking forward to our stay at the YC. I just have to figure out where we will have dinner the first two nights. We already have PSs for Spoodles and YSH for later in the week. I am trying to think of somewhere casual, but special for our first night since the kids will be tired. I am thinking maybe FF for the second night.

Thanks again for your replies!!

We've never gotten the green key because we always book too close, the valet guy always walks us to the elevator and uses his key to send us up.

The Yacht Club Galley is open now for dinner. I personally haven't tried it but the reviews I've read are all good. Cape May Cafe is just next door at the BC. And of course Beaches and Cream is there but you can't make a PS. Your kids would probably love it though.

We have stayed at YC concierge many times, but I never seem to have any luck with the access key card they send ahead of time. Either I lose it or forget it before the trip, or the card I do receive doesn't work, or we arrive after 10 and have to check in downstairs after all! Even when you don't have the key card, the bell staff is happy to help you get up to the concierge level to check in.

And it is great checking in there. If the lounge is open, the rest of the family can go get a drink and a snack while I do the work. It makes it so much easier and relaxing.

All this talk is making me homesick for the YC and I have another year to wait for my next trip!! :sad2:

We're going back in Dec. Love that place.

If you are looking for a nice, sit-down, PS dinner place-try the Cape May Clambake. I don't like seafood but there was so many non-seafood offerings on their buffet I didn't go hungry (their dessert buffet is great too)!

By the way, the lounge offerings in the afternoon were great also! You could almost make a meal of it there.

Anyone been lately-what do they offer now?

I am getting so excited for our trip after reading your replies.

What type of offerings do they have in the lounge throughout the day?

I was actually thinking of trying Cape May Buffet. We were there years ago, but it may the perfect place for our first night. We won't be arriving until around 5pm, so we can check-in, go to dinner and then unpack!

I love hearing all this great YC info!!! Keep it coming!
