Has anyone stayed at the Country INN and Suites next to Sheraton Safari or the one in Kissimmee that is tropical themed? We are considering these for our next stay. Thanks in advance.

We have stayed at both. I would definitely choose the one in Lake Buena Vista. Great staff, clean rooms, everyone helpful. The only downside I have heard some people mention is the parking but we never ever had a problem with that. We did not like the one in Kissimmee. There were a lot of timeshare salesmen eating breakfast there with their clients each morning for one thing. Also, we thought the staff was not as friendly and helpful and our room wasn't as nice. Hope this helps.

I'm going to move this over to the Orlando Hotels Board for you.

The Country Inn & Suites usually gets good reviews. I don't think you could go wrong w/ them.

We love the one in Kissimmee. We stay there for 1 night almost everytrip to the "World". We use our rewards from Gold Pts. There are 3 pools, free mini golf, a nice breakfast and music by the pool.

If you're staying at Country Inn, how far ahead would you have to book for, say Dec. 12-20?

We stayed in the one on universal, the rooms were clean but the facility itself was pretty beat up---walls battered, carpets filthy. I didn't feel like it was well maintained and clean.

We stayed at the one on SR 535, right past I-4 and right outside of Downtown Disney! The hotel was very nice, room was really clean (we had a 1 bedroom suite - great deal - $59/night). Breakfast was OK - line was kind of long at the toaster area. Staff was nice. DD loved the pool area!

We are booked at the one in Kissimmee in October. A travel agent friend called to book it for me. They told her that AAA has blocks of rooms and the best way to get their rate is to book through AAAs site. I am happy with what we will be paying, approx $104/nite for the kids suite.

Has anyone stayed in the kids suites - is it closed off or just more of an alcove?

Stayed at the one by Universal and thought it was great, so I would have no problems staying at the other ones as I've driven by them and they look just as good or better.

Had a week at the one at LBV in May and really liked it. The reception staff were very helpful, breakfast was good and plentiful and I enjoyed having the use of the free high speed internet access in the room.

While we were they they replaced a lot of sofa beds and chairs in the rooms.

Just back from the Country Inn & Suites in Kissimmee, it's also listed as "at Calypso Cay" or "Maingate."

It was a great choice for our family (two adults, kids 10 and 7.5). We had a 'kids suite' which meant a king bed and TV for us, twin bunkbeds and another TV for the kids. The kids area was nicely decorated with a pirate-y beach-y theme, and they each had a loft bed with drawers underneath as opposed to traditional bunks.

The breakfast was fine. Yes, the salesmen came in on weekdays, but we avoided them by eating outside. I was more put off by the 2 TVs on different stations AND stereo music playing. Talk about sensory overload!

We were on the 2nd floor so could walk up and down most of the time, a nice benefit since only one elevator seemed to be working. :confused3

Kids loved the themed pool. I used the adult pool once and dh went in the hot tub a few times. He also had a beer by the pool one hot afternoon. It's a nice option.

We tried the mini-golf, but got too darn hot (record heat wave in Orlando last week). I think on a cool evening it would be enjoyable.

This location is very convenient to a SuperWalmart, Super Target and the usual chain restaurants on 192. The room had a mini-fridge and a microwave which we put to good use for popcorn.

The staff was polite, room was clean, beds were comfortable etc. As I said, it really worked out well for us.

Anyone that has stayed at The LBV hotel, is the in room internet connection wireless?

In Reception/Dining area I think its wireless but in the room its ethernet cable which is provided for you.

I spoke to someone using a Mac in the reception area and he was using it there as the ethernet cable wouldn't work with his Mac.
