I remember seeing posts about this hotel but can not "search" for them. Has anyone stayed there. Is it clean, and are there restaurants near it? How are the pools and the minature golf?

We are going in August to Universal and Disney and figure staying off site would give us "extra" money.

Thanks for your input.

Hi,

We stayed there last October and it's a lovely hotel. Staff friendly, very clean, nice pool, landscaped and great rates.

Breakfast is basic but good with baked goods etc.

Hope this helps

The Country Inn and Suites chain is popping up all over central Florida and their properties are all invariably new, clean and well maintained. Very good vfm, IMHO.

We stayed here in August and it was very nice. It is a great value. The breakfast is decent. You are toasting your own waffles and such. There is cereal and boiled eggs and fruit and toast and pastries. There are a total of three pools. Each hotel has it's own which area pretty small and quiet and there is one in the middle with a zero depth entrance and crabs squirting water and a small water slide. It is not a big pool, but it was fun for my little ones. The putt putt was better that the HIFS. Not huge, but I think it was 18 holes. They had a playground, but we did not use it. The rooms are small, though. They are not really suites. The kid suite area was more like a closet, But mine are preschoolers, so it was big enough and they had their own tv. Try to get a rate using the Entertainment Card. We had a $77 rate for last week for a kid suite, but canceled it for $125 for the Hard Rock. Go to www.calypsocay.com and search the site for pictures of the pool area. Let me know if you have any questions.

We always stay at Country Inns on the way down to Florida so knew about them before booking this hotel site unseen. The thing that made me seal the deal was getting a rate of $49.00 a nite throug www.valuetrips.com, which I got off of mousesavers.
I figured for 49.00 a nite I couldn't go wrong. My kids are 12 and 15 and I thought the minature golf would give them something to do in their down time.

Thanks for the replies. I'm excited

We stayed there last summer and it was lovely. It was pretty new and it was very clean. The breakfast was very good in the mornings and the pool was a lot of fun for my kids.

We have stayed at Country Inn and Suites elsewhere and have always liked our stays with the chain.

I couldn't get the pictures to come up...do they have a kiddie pool is this the same one that is on Apoka Rd...

Check out www.calypsocay.com

There were three pools when we were there last year. The main one in the center was a zero degree entry area and a water slide. There were also two other regular pools. Little ones should do fine with that zero degree entry pool for play.
