Hi all,

So we are booked and we have counter service for this upcoming trip so I thought I'd get you opinons...

For each of the parks what's the one counter service location you:
1) Must go to
2) Must avoid

For you Dole Whip fans like me --- Don't say Dole Whip! ;) That's a given must go to. :dance3:

MK
must go-Cosmic Rays and Pecos Bills
must avoid- Lunching Pad

DHS
must go- ABC Commissary and Backlot Express
must avoid- Pizza Planet

AK
must go- Flame Tree BBQ
must avoid- don't know

EPCOT
must go- Sunshine Season and Cantina de San Angel
must avoid- Lotus Blossom (so so)

another good place at Ak is the Pizzafari.....it is excellent there and has alot of different choices.....

Please try to make it to Down town Disney and go to The Earl of Sandwich.....it is the best counter service ever......

at MK we also like Columbia House....it is right near the entrance to the Haunted Mansion.....another good choice with Cosmic Rays and Pecos Bills

In the MK we love Columbia Harbour House...

We hated ABC in DHS...We have been twice and will not go again...We had a really bad experience frist time but we always give a place a second chance...The food was so bad that they will not get a third chance from this family.

Fish and Chips in England at EPCOT - YUMMiE
The French Pastry shop in France, the Ham and cheese Crossiants are yummy and cheap my daughter still talks about the pink fluff (strawberry mouse) she had after lunch there. :)
I hear Flame Tree is good, we are going to try it this time.

MK
visit: Columbia Harbour House and Casey's
avoid: anything near a parade route near parade time

Epcot
visit: Mexico! Plato combinacion :)
avoid: eating american counter service, cuz you have so many choices!

AK
visit: they changed my FAV of ALL TIME chicken salad Tusker House to buffet! (but we still go) but I usually go Flame Tree if I need a CS
avoid: ummm....anything crazy busy?

DHS
visit: Backlot Express (NOT after Indy lets out)
avoid: Pizza Planet

I don't ever put my foot down, I'll probably go to all the restaurants at some time (aka Pecos Bills during parade time, I did it, not too fun) but I usually lean towards my favs :)

MK: Must- Cosmic Rays
Avoid- Pinocchio village haus

EP: Must- sunshine seasons
Avoid- Electric umbrella

DS: Must- none
avoid- Pizza Planet,Abc Commissary

AK: Must- Flametree
Avoid-Pizzafari

I dont have any must avoids but here are our favs.

MK - Cosmic Rays (Ribs and Chicken platter one of the best CS values)
Epcot - Sunshine Seasons by far our fav CS anywhere and Tangerine Cafe
MGM - Starring Rolls (only has ham/turkey sandwiches and veggie wraps, but they are great)
AK - Flame Tree

MK - Must go to Cosmic Rays
Must avoid Tomorrowland Noodle Terrace

EPCOT - Must go to Tangierine Cafe
Must avoid japan CS

AK - Must go to Flame Tree BBQ

HS - Must avoid all CS places

MK must Columbia Harbor House
MK skip Cosmic Rays - I just hate this restaurant. It's impssible to find a table even in slow times and if you want chicken AND burgers you need to wait in line twice.

Epcot Must is Sunshine Seasons
Epcot skip is Electric Umbrella

MGM must is Backlot Express
Skip everything else

Animal Kingdom Must used to be Tusler House, now maybe Yak and Yeti
Skip McDonalds in Dinoland

Are the Fish&Chips considered counter for the meal plan do you know??? :)

3 adults & we time it to eat at 'off' times to cut down on some of the crowds.
We also go at 'low' visitation times.

Epcot: Favs
Tangiene (Morocco)
CS in Japan
Harry Ramsdens (UK) fish & chips
Sunshine Seasons
Cantina
Patisseire: yep, good ham & cheese croisants, also nice cheese plate & pralineige! Grab a table FAST!
CS in Norway: lots of good sandwiches & soups, great desserts. Can get crowded.

DHS
not any real favs here, but we do go to ABC Comm for the atmosphere & plenty of seating.

AK
Flame Tree

MK
No real favs for us here, too
we do the Dole Whip thing--also Love the pineapple milk shake!
Yep, Cosmic is okay if you ALL can agree on the same type of food, otherwise it is: the chicken line, the burger line...:scared1:
We tend to head over to one of the monorail resorts CS'

We went to a place in the UK (Yorkshire County Fish Shop) at Epcot - the fish & chips were a counter service on the dining plan. It was very good. They had nice outdoor sitting, etc. However, we sat on a curb, shared an order while watching a performance of King Arthur & the Holy Grail. Was a good time.

FYI - you can use a snack credit for an extra side of chips.

I'm surprised to see so many people say avoid Pizza Planet! We actually prefer it to the other lackluster CS options at DHS. Plus, isn't it the same pizza that they have at Pizzafari? :confused3

MK:
Must do: Columbia Harbor House
Must avoid: Tomorrowland Terrace Noodle Company (nasty, greasy noodles)

Epcot:
Must do: Sunshine Seasons
Must avoid: Liberty Inn (same old boring "American-style" crap)

DHS:
Must do: Nothing.
Must avoid: Everything (there are NO good CS restaurants here)

AK:
Must do: Flame Tree BBQ
Must avoid: Gackin' Yeti (see TTNC in the MK. except worse)

I think I'll have to disagree. Although Earl of Sandwich is good, IMO the best CS is the Pepper Market at CSR. The second best is Wolfgang Puck Express near the EoS :).

I didn't think there COULD be any CS worse than TTNC. They tasted like cold salted noodles tossed in lard!! Absolutely fowl!
