I was following the $40 a day food thread with interest but our situation is a bit different. We need a counter service for 5 plan if anyone would like to help.
We are eating counter serve lunch everyday for 10 days and I want to shoot for a $35-$40 budget.
We have 3 adults, one doesn't eat pork or beef
1 14 yr old boy who doesn't eat pork or beef. This kid would be happiest eating from the kids menu. Doesn't like veggies, will do chicken nuggets, mac n cheese, and french fries. Kid is skinny as a rail but can really put away food a few times a day
1 10 yr old girl who will eat a wide variety of food.
We will have our own beverages so do not include any of those in the price.
My first sample meal: Starring Rolls lunch
1 Ham sandwich with fruit 9.19
1Turkey sandwich with fruit 9.19
2 croissants 2.29 x 2 = 4.58
2 bags of chips (?) hoping they have these ($2?)
3 cupcakes 12.00
Total $36.96
We have had these sandwiches before and ended up throwing some away because they are so big, it will work better to put some of the meat on a croissant for the kids. So Dh and DD10 will split the ham sandwich, the other croissant will get some turkey, and then DD 16 and I will split that sandwich. We will share the fruit and chips. For dessert we will just all sample the cupcakes.
Here are our parks/days
MK 3 days eating at Cosmic Rays, Pecos Bills other day is a TS
AK 2 days eating at Yak and Yeti and Flametree
HS 1 day of CS eating at Starring Rolls
Epcot 2 days 1 day eating at Sunshine Seasons the other day we are eating around the world for lunch and dinner so need 2 options there.
For the record because it has to be said: We are not poor, we are not trying to be cheap, we want to eat what we pay for and not have waste or be so stuffed we are uncomfortable. If someone MUST comment on how "they" would never do "that" then this is not the thread for you
. I am just killin some time while I wait for my trip and if we get there and it turns out the plans don't work for what ever reason I'll be just fine.."their more like guidelines anyway"
We will NOT be huddled around a can of corn! (Sorry old reference to a thread I read) anyway, if you do want to play my game I'd be thrilled to read what you come up with!
