I was following the $40 a day food thread with interest but our situation is a bit different. We need a counter service for 5 plan if anyone would like to help.

We are eating counter serve lunch everyday for 10 days and I want to shoot for a $35-$40 budget.

We have 3 adults, one doesn't eat pork or beef

1 14 yr old boy who doesn't eat pork or beef. This kid would be happiest eating from the kids menu. Doesn't like veggies, will do chicken nuggets, mac n cheese, and french fries. Kid is skinny as a rail but can really put away food a few times a day

1 10 yr old girl who will eat a wide variety of food.

We will have our own beverages so do not include any of those in the price.

My first sample meal: Starring Rolls lunch

1 Ham sandwich with fruit 9.19
1Turkey sandwich with fruit 9.19
2 croissants 2.29 x 2 = 4.58
2 bags of chips (?) hoping they have these ($2?)
3 cupcakes 12.00
Total $36.96

We have had these sandwiches before and ended up throwing some away because they are so big, it will work better to put some of the meat on a croissant for the kids. So Dh and DD10 will split the ham sandwich, the other croissant will get some turkey, and then DD 16 and I will split that sandwich. We will share the fruit and chips. For dessert we will just all sample the cupcakes.

Here are our parks/days

MK 3 days eating at Cosmic Rays, Pecos Bills other day is a TS

AK 2 days eating at Yak and Yeti and Flametree

HS 1 day of CS eating at Starring Rolls

Epcot 2 days 1 day eating at Sunshine Seasons the other day we are eating around the world for lunch and dinner so need 2 options there.

For the record because it has to be said: We are not poor, we are not trying to be cheap, we want to eat what we pay for and not have waste or be so stuffed we are uncomfortable. If someone MUST comment on how "they" would never do "that" then this is not the thread for you :goodvibes. I am just killin some time while I wait for my trip and if we get there and it turns out the plans don't work for what ever reason I'll be just fine.."their more like guidelines anyway" :rotfl: We will NOT be huddled around a can of corn! (Sorry old reference to a thread I read) anyway, if you do want to play my game I'd be thrilled to read what you come up with!

I wanna play!!! Tell me if this is enough food and enough of the right kind of food.

AK Day

Yak n Yeti: Honey Chicken, Orange Beef, Mand Chicken Salad, 2 Froz Lemonades $39.56
Flame Tree: Ribs meal, Chicken meal, BBQ Chicken Salad, Fruit Plate $37.02
Pizzafari: 2 cheese pizzas w/salad, 1 veggie pizza w/salad, 2 orders bread sticks $35.41

So, am I on the right track or is there not enough food for the 14 yr old?

Flame Tree: Ribs meal, Chicken meal, BBQ Chicken Salad, Fruit Plate $37.02>>Here 3 people would love the ribs so I think 2 rib meals and 1 chicken meal plus the fruit. the fruit wasn't very good last time we had it though so...only a maybe there.

>> you did well :goodvibes but we have 2 days at AK and wll probably not eat pizza there because we love Yak and Yeti and Flametree. We will have pizza in room one night. I think I need to list the resturant we are planning on to help people who want to play. Off to edit the OP!

I was thinking of the lemonade more as a dessert than a drink.

What? No Columbia Harbour House at MK??? Okay, I'll see what can be done with the others. What about DTD?

Oh, and you could always do a basket of onion rings at Flame Tree instead of the fruit.

that would work :)

I'm sorry nobody else wants to play. This is fun! And you're feeding FIVE people for just a little more than the cost of ONE QSDP (of course, it's only one meal, but still!).

Sunshine Seasons:
Rotissierie 1/2 chicken, Roasted pork chop, Kid's mac n cheese, 2 desserts $35.52

Cosmic Rays:
Cheese Burger, Cheese Steak, Turkey Bacon Wrap, Greek Salad, Kid's Turkey Sand $39.88

Wolfgang Puck Exp:
Margherita Pizza, 4 Cheese Pesto Pizza, Spaghetti, Creme Brulee $41.50 (a little over here, but you gotta have the creme brulee)

And if you want to branch out a bit from your chosen QS places.....

La Cantina in Mexico:
Chicken Tacos, Nachos, 2 Kid's Meals, Churros $41.35

Yakitori House in Japan:
2 Teriyaki Beef, 1 Teriyaki Chicken, 2 side salads $41.50

Earl of Sandwich:
everyone gets their own sandwich $31.90 then go to Ghiradelli's to share a sundae $9.53

Pinnochio Village Haus:
Penne Pasta, 2 Chicken Parms, Mediterranean Salad $36.91
