2 weeks. I'm even getting excited for you. I can't wait to see how your Henry and you alone time will be. I have been tempted for my DS and I to go to Disney without the DH. I know yours will only be one day, but it will give me some idea.
Sorry I don't have any ideas for cheaper photopass deals. There is the share idea, but I have never done that, so can't comment really. Even though we have bought the photopass cd every trip, I would say spend the money for the photo session and pass on the photopass cd, sometimes the quality of the pictures is really lacking. And alot of times the pictures that they take with your own camera seems better. But then on the other hand, it is Henry's 3rd birthday and I'm sure if you mention that they will do some cute pics. Like they did one of my DS looking at the castle with his Mickey Ears on and they took it from behind. It's cute. And also you get to add the cute birthday borders...so I would be torn.
I would probably just spring for both, after all you are saving the money from doing a more expensive photo session for Henry's birthday.
I'm a bit nervous about the day and a half solo with Henry, but I've tried to think of little details that will make it easier. I've also prepped him that Daddy is NOT coming with us on the plane but he comes the next day. Henry has recited that to me a few times.

I don't want to get going and him freak out because Daddy isn't coming. I think the most interesting part is going to be security at the airport, I'm hoping by traveling pretty simply that first day will help me get through that easily!
I've done the share a couple of times, but I've never started one myself. It works out wonderfully!! I really like the idea of getting the Photopass CD this time too because Henry is going to be into meeting the characters this trip - we've never done much of the characters. And yes, I could just take them with my own camera, but allowing the PP to capture the moment instead would allow me to be IN the moment a bit more. Plus the little signatures on the borders for the characters are always adorable!
I really, really want both. If I could organize the share I could make it within our budget!
I am not caught up on your thread,
ut saw your last post: I did a share once and it worked out perfectly. BUT, I think the DIS does not allow "public" shares anymore to be posted. However, it is still possible to arrange them "privately" in case you happen to know any DISers who might be there around the same time frame. One of you has to pre-order the CD. This person would then add all the photopass-numbers of participants into the account and thus claim the pictures. It is important that the numbers can only be claimed into one account. The one that organized my share than gave everyone a time slot to go online and edit the photos and then after everyone was done he ordered the CD and actually burned everyones pictures seperately on CDs.
Your one-shop-stop for everything photopass should be stitchkingdom.com
I had come across stitchkingdom a couple days ago when I started researching out the Resort shoot idea - what a great site! It has tons of info! I've done a couple shares in the past, but never organized one or paid much attention to what the organizer did - I just followed the rules I was given.

It makes sense that each person is given a certain number of days to edit their pictures since you only get 30 days or whatever on it. Thanks for breaking it down into all the detail Magdalene! I think I just might start PMing people. Perhaps our Blankistani friend would be interested....
Yes, I know...unfortunately, the answer is 'no'. I did a share too.
Congrats on 2 weeks!
Stink! It sure would be nice to get a discount there! I'm thinking I'm going to bite the bullet and organize a share if I can get a few people interested. Thankfully there are a LOT of DISers going around the same time!
Oooh I love the in two weeks game!!!! Soon you will be

I am thinking you should chill by the pool AND go to DTD!!!
Oh believe me I know ALL about NYS DMV....they are my nemesis!! I am the manager and sell cars for a dealer and I am in contact with them on a mostly daily basis. Beware that if you are going to transfer everything over to get a NY license...it comes in the mail and you will likely not have it before your trip if you need a photo id.
Tracy
I just spoke to Joe wondering out loud when I'd start loosing sleep.

It never fails. I get too excited.
I really liked your idea of the pool and DTD.

H will need a nap, but perhaps if he's already out in his stroller and our room isn't ready he can nap poolside...
Oh my goodness. You don't get paid enough. To have to deal with the NYS DMV DAILY.

Seriously. Ugh. Thankfully I don't need the ID for this trip (or shouldn't?!!!), but I'm thinking for St. Lucia I should have it up to date for customs. My passport is NOT, it has my maiden name, so I'll carry my marriage license and I'd just like one document that is accurate...just in case.
Yay for the two week game! I agree with Tracy - go to the pool AND DTD
Unless you can put together a good share I'd probably skip paying for the photopass CD and just do the photo shoot. I was pretty unhappy with the quality of the pics we received from December so in May I didn't buy the CD. Every photopass photographer we came across was happy to take a picture with my camera as well.
I'm thinking a dinner at WPE or EoS would be mighty tasty that first night. Mmmmmm!
I wasn't overly excited about the December quality pictures we got either. But last time we did it, which I think was September 2009, they were GREAT! We encountered some really fun PP photographers, got tons of "magic shots" and Henry even got his own little personal photo shoot in Japan! I wouldn't be too happy to pay $100 for meh pictures...
Ooh, 2 weeks!!

I love it! You are SO CLOSE!!
I wish I could give good info on the photo session - but my only input is that Henry will be SO CUTE

! The prices seem a bit high, but then again if you go to Sears or some place and then buy a few pictures here and a few pictures there, you could easily get there.

I hope he's in a good mood for it and hams it up really good! He can be so fun when he's in a picture taking mood. We easily drop $100 or more at Target or the like for photos, and then we don't even get rights to the pictures and the backgrounds are not pretty things like the Beach Club.
