These pictures are absolutely beautiful! Thanks for posting.

Oh Brooke - you HAVE to do this! Henry is getting so big and he has changed a lot from when I first started reading your TRs. I can definitely see him getting some excellent shots.

I love all his clothes. I remember being sad when my kids hit the age when I couldn't buy those cute shirts anymore.

Stupid work has conspired against me, haven't been keeping up here but i got over here today!!:)

The pics of Henry opening the Mickey Mail crack me up! I can just see him happily going about his business, riding around, pausing to take care of some official Mickey business but he can't get off the bike, he is a busy little man:rotfl:

Love the idea of the photoshoot, can't wait to hear all about it! And the pics everyone posted of them so far...really fabulous!!!

Ok back to work...and back to being jealous that you will soon be in WDW :woohoo:

MICKEY MAIL!!! My favorite mail of all:cloud9: Wish I had some coming to me......guess I will have to be patient. And I love the idea of the photopass shoot. I would love to do that, but Alexa wont EVER willingly look at any camera, so I have to wait until she is a bit more cooperative. She turns 3 at the end of September and I DREAD taking her for her 3 yr picture:scared1:. She cried the whole way through her 2 yr old picture. I had some taken recently of all 4 of the kids to try and make it "easier" for the alone 3 yr picture. Nope-didnt help at all, she was still most uncooperative!
Anyway--Im so excited for you--your trip is SO CLOSE:cool1:

Henry is sometimes really great with pictures and other times he refuses to look at the camera as well. I figure if he's in that mood then we'll just let him play on the beach and run around and get candid like pictures. Your commenting on this made me realize I need to call them again TODAY!

Actually, no. I grew up in Brooklyn and moved to Queens two years ago.
How do you like Astoria?

We really like it! It's such a nice neighborhood...and lots of good food. We were just over at Astoria Park this morning too, I love going down there it's beautiful!

I do enjoy all the DVC mail! I especially like the DisneyFiles magazine! I feel so special when it comes! :lmao: I totally agree that a binder would make a lot more sense!

I think the photo session is a fabulous idea for Henry's 3rd b-day! I have a bunch of the pictures from our on the wall in our living room and so many people complement us on them and ask me where they were taken!

I think it was right around $100 for the photo session and CD of the photos! I was also able to use the photopass # and put them on our regular photopass CD and embellish a few! I don't entirely remember how it worked.

I found this # for the photo sessions, 407-934-4004. I'm sure they can answer any questions you have! What I read also says DVC members get a discount! Woo hooo :thumbsup2

:rotfl: I feel special when my Disney Files comes too! I love it!

The process you mentioned seems about similar to what I've been reading online too - if you have a Photopass card they will add them to it, but they also give you a CD of them. I am still debating on doing Photopass, it's so stinkin' expensive! We've done a share in the past but haven't gotten involved in one this time. LOVE that DVC gets a discount though! I wonder if that could be on both the PP and the session...hmmm...:scratchin I really need to call them - like NOW! :goodvibes

I'm sorry Brook, I was pages and pages behind :sad2:

All of your plans look great, I love the 3 must do's for each park and your go with the flow attitude - something having DVC allows, you always know there will be a next time :thumbsup2 And, good call switching your ADRs from dinner time to lunch - that Kristen is one smart cookie!

I'm seriously jealous of your new phone.......

Ok, I've never seen special ketchup at CFA! Does MEK's CFA have something mine does not - totally not fair! In addition to the sauces she mentioned they also have honey mustard, my personal fav!

Yay for Mickey Mail! :yay:

Gosh, I forgot what else I wanted to comment on - guess that's what happens when you read 5 updates at once

No worries on being behind!!! It is true about DVC, it really makes it easier to go with the flow and just let some things go, knowing we'll be back. I love that kind of security.

I was dreaming of Chick-Fil-A earlier today. :rotfl: I think I'll be getting ALL the sauces and trying each of them. I love sauce. Mmmmm!!! I'll report back on MCO's ketchup situation too. I hope your CFA isn't getting shorted!!!

Yay for Mickey Mail! We got ours today..but shhhh, still need to post that on my PTR! ;)

Loved Henry's fashion show, that's about as far as I get with my boys, too!

The photo shoot is a great idea! My Mom, sister and I did one at the GF last September and it was SO worth the price, great idea for you guys, I highly recommend it!!:thumbsup2

Can't believe how close you are!!!!!!:cheer2:

:yay: Mickey Mail for you!!!! It really is the best, isn't it?

Henry was insistent on wearing his Toy Story shirt that day, then when I changed him into the Mickey one, and offered to change him back he even refused. :rotfl2: He was DONE with changing clothes!

I've only heard great reviews back about these photo shoots, it makes me more and more excited!

The photo shoot sounds like a great idea - might just look into that myself! Will be glad to hear what you find out too.
Alice would like to send everyone these :hippie:

I am going to call them here when I'm done with replies and will report back on what they tell me. I think it will be a lot of fun!

Love your smilies Alice!!! :goodvibes Henry would put some on in reply, but he's at nap time...and NOT napping. :sad2:

I plan to do the photoshoot as well if we go in Dec. We hae no family pictures of the 3 of us that are very nice. I am lookling at GF right now. I have read the best reviews and see the best pictures from GF, Poly and WL.

I ordered a droid yesterday. It should come today or tomorrow. I'm stepping up in the world. LOL!

I love Henry's clothes. I'll have to see if Claire will do a fashion shoot for me too. Probably not. LOL! :rolleyes1

I just went through my travel box recently too. It is kind of fun looking at all the stuff to bring along. :yay:

I was going to comment on somethign else, but can't remember now. Oh well.:confused3

I saw that you were on the Photo Sessions thread too! :goodvibes I saw the dress that you mentioned in your PTR, the blue and brown one - super cute. I haven't a CLUE what we will wear. Maybe just jean shorts and a neutral top. Henry has a white polo that might be super cute for beach pictures...hmm....

I can't hardly believe it! Freak-out mode hasn't set in yet, but I'm sure it's around the corner.

Aren't they great pictures? The sessions always turn out so nicely - I think it will be a lot of fun! Hopefully Henry is in a good mood to cooperate and enjoys it. I'll bribe him with candy. :rolleyes1

I will miss all the cute boy clothes. When I shop now I always look at a few sizes bigger and even then there isn't nearly as much fun stuff!

Real life gets in the ways sometimes of DISing, doesn't it? :sad2: :rotfl: I am a bit behind on my subscriptions as well.

That is EXACTLY how the situation went! I encouraged him to get off the bike, but he refused. As soon as he was done opening it and looking he was off!

I'm getting really excited about the photo shoot too! I'm going to call them right now.

Yoo Hoo!!!!! :banana::cool1::yay::dance3:

:cheer2: Before I know it we'll be single digit dancing!!!

It is time for everyone's favorite game!

The "In 2 weeks I'll be......" game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think this is my favorite game. Only trumped by "In 1 week I'll be..." and the "Tomorrow we leave!" games. ::yes::

So, in two glorious weeks I'll be...

Riding this bus

on our way
759691809_78yAz-M.jpg

We will check-in and receive that beautiful packet full of resort information. Will our room be ready? What will Henry and I do that day?

Maybe we will go here to cool off and relax
bwi126.jpg

Or run around here
bwi120.jpg

Or maybe our room will be ready and we'll go nap here instead
bwvstudio1009d.jpg

Perhaps that afternoon we'll go to

and later a DIS meet with Liesa (All7OfUs) here

We will see what the day will hold for us in two weeks!

I can't hardly believe it's so close. I don't feel like I have a lot to get done, but I know there are some loose ends - not trip related - that I need to do before we go. I must face the New York City Department of Motor Vehicles. Joe already did it for his ID card. It took him 3 hours. :faint: I have to find a new Pediatrician for Henry and I also have to work on our St. Lucia trip a bit. Disney has been hogging all my free time. ;)

And speaking of...I just got off the phone with the Photo Session people and they told me exactly what I expected for information. There are three packages available:

1) 20 minutes with the photographer, it includes all images on a CD and a print package for $99.95.
2) 40 minutes with the photographer, it includes all images on the CD and a print package for $124.95.
3) 20 minutes with the photographer and just the print package for $49.95.

DVC does get a discount bringing package 1 to $79.95 and package 2 to $104.95 (I didn't ask for package 3).

There is NOT a combo package with the Parks Photopass CD; however they can add your Photo Session pictures from the resort to your Parks Photopass card if you'd like when you purchase package 1 or 2. You will be able to enhance those pictures if you'd like to.

I also see the Parks Photopass CD can now be pre-ordered at the discount rate again of $100. I would like to get this and the Resort shoot, but $200 is pretty steep for our current vacation budget. Does anyone know if DVC can also get a discount on the Parks Photopass CD? Or are there any tricks to get it cheaper than $100? I'm tempted to start a share....:scratchin

2 weeks. I'm even getting excited for you. I can't wait to see how your Henry and you alone time will be. I have been tempted for my DS and I to go to Disney without the DH. I know yours will only be one day, but it will give me some idea.

Sorry I don't have any ideas for cheaper photopass deals. There is the share idea, but I have never done that, so can't comment really. Even though we have bought the photopass cd every trip, I would say spend the money for the photo session and pass on the photopass cd, sometimes the quality of the pictures is really lacking. And alot of times the pictures that they take with your own camera seems better. But then on the other hand, it is Henry's 3rd birthday and I'm sure if you mention that they will do some cute pics. Like they did one of my DS looking at the castle with his Mickey Ears on and they took it from behind. It's cute. And also you get to add the cute birthday borders...so I would be torn.

I would probably just spring for both, after all you are saving the money from doing a more expensive photo session for Henry's birthday. :)

I am not caught up on your thread, ut saw your last post: I did a share once and it worked out perfectly. BUT, I think the DIS does not allow "public" shares anymore to be posted. However, it is still possible to arrange them "privately" in case you happen to know any DISers who might be there around the same time frame. One of you has to pre-order the CD. This person would then add all the photopass-numbers of participants into the account and thus claim the pictures. It is important that the numbers can only be claimed into one account. The one that organized my share than gave everyone a time slot to go online and edit the photos and then after everyone was done he ordered the CD and actually burned everyones pictures seperately on CDs.

Your one-shop-stop for everything photopass should be stitchkingdom.com :goodvibes

Yes, I know...unfortunately, the answer is 'no'. I did a share too.

Congrats on 2 weeks!

Oooh I love the in two weeks game!!!! Soon you will be :hyper:
I am thinking you should chill by the pool AND go to DTD!!! :goodvibes

Oh believe me I know ALL about NYS DMV....they are my nemesis!! I am the manager and sell cars for a dealer and I am in contact with them on a mostly daily basis. Beware that if you are going to transfer everything over to get a NY license...it comes in the mail and you will likely not have it before your trip if you need a photo id.

Tracy

Yay for the two week game! I agree with Tracy - go to the pool AND DTD :thumbsup2

Unless you can put together a good share I'd probably skip paying for the photopass CD and just do the photo shoot. I was pretty unhappy with the quality of the pics we received from December so in May I didn't buy the CD. Every photopass photographer we came across was happy to take a picture with my camera as well.

Ooh, 2 weeks!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: I love it! You are SO CLOSE!!

I wish I could give good info on the photo session - but my only input is that Henry will be SO CUTE :cutie:! The prices seem a bit high, but then again if you go to Sears or some place and then buy a few pictures here and a few pictures there, you could easily get there.

I'm a bit nervous about the day and a half solo with Henry, but I've tried to think of little details that will make it easier. I've also prepped him that Daddy is NOT coming with us on the plane but he comes the next day. Henry has recited that to me a few times. I don't want to get going and him freak out because Daddy isn't coming. I think the most interesting part is going to be security at the airport, I'm hoping by traveling pretty simply that first day will help me get through that easily!

I've done the share a couple of times, but I've never started one myself. It works out wonderfully!! I really like the idea of getting the Photopass CD this time too because Henry is going to be into meeting the characters this trip - we've never done much of the characters. And yes, I could just take them with my own camera, but allowing the PP to capture the moment instead would allow me to be IN the moment a bit more. Plus the little signatures on the borders for the characters are always adorable! :goodvibes

I really, really want both. If I could organize the share I could make it within our budget!

I had come across stitchkingdom a couple days ago when I started researching out the Resort shoot idea - what a great site! It has tons of info! I've done a couple shares in the past, but never organized one or paid much attention to what the organizer did - I just followed the rules I was given. It makes sense that each person is given a certain number of days to edit their pictures since you only get 30 days or whatever on it. Thanks for breaking it down into all the detail Magdalene! I think I just might start PMing people. Perhaps our Blankistani friend would be interested....:goodvibes

Yes, I know...unfortunately, the answer is 'no'. I did a share too.

Congrats on 2 weeks!

Stink! It sure would be nice to get a discount there! I'm thinking I'm going to bite the bullet and organize a share if I can get a few people interested. Thankfully there are a LOT of DISers going around the same time!

Oooh I love the in two weeks game!!!! Soon you will be :hyper:

Tracy

I just spoke to Joe wondering out loud when I'd start loosing sleep. It never fails. I get too excited. :rotfl:

I really liked your idea of the pool and DTD. :thumbsup2 H will need a nap, but perhaps if he's already out in his stroller and our room isn't ready he can nap poolside...::yes::

Oh my goodness. You don't get paid enough. To have to deal with the NYS DMV DAILY. :headache::headache::headache: Seriously. Ugh. Thankfully I don't need the ID for this trip (or shouldn't?!!!), but I'm thinking for St. Lucia I should have it up to date for customs. My passport is NOT, it has my maiden name, so I'll carry my marriage license and I'd just like one document that is accurate...just in case.

Yay for the two week game! I agree with Tracy - go to the pool AND DTD :thumbsup2

I'm thinking a dinner at WPE or EoS would be mighty tasty that first night. Mmmmmm!

I wasn't overly excited about the December quality pictures we got either. But last time we did it, which I think was September 2009, they were GREAT! We encountered some really fun PP photographers, got tons of "magic shots" and Henry even got his own little personal photo shoot in Japan! I wouldn't be too happy to pay $100 for meh pictures...

 I hope he's in a good mood for it and hams it up really good! He can be so fun when he's in a picture taking mood. We easily drop $100 or more at Target or the like for photos, and then we don't even get rights to the pictures and the backgrounds are not pretty things like the Beach Club. :rotfl2:

2 weeks, 2 weeks! Ahh so jealous about the Boardwalk. I am hoping we get to stay there soon...my parents and sister loved it so much. In April Dad would point out their room and even in our Aug. pictures he kept saying that's where our room was! hehe :goodvibes

I wish our trips were closer together, I'd be up for a share, we've already prebought our CD with our friends...but think the trips would be too far apart to combine with you? :confused3

That's really not a bad price for the sessions at all! Hopefully, you can find people to share the CD with you and you are able to do both! For ordering nicer quality prints, I really like mpix. I dunno if you guys have used them or not!

And EEK!!! on the two week game! You are right, it might be once of the best disboard games ever!

ETA: I read your comment about the airport and security without Joe there. I have a friend that recently traveled with her 2 kids (one of whom could not walk yet and was in a stroller -can you IMAGINE??) and they played airport security at home. She had the kids practice what they were going to do in which places and said it made the trip a breeze. That's the mother I aspire to be!

Hurray for two weeks! I must admit the "In Two Weeks" is one of my favorite games, too!

I think you have a lovely first day planned -- a little resting, a little playing, and a little shopping! Just perfect!
