Countdown to the Clown! A September PTR - Updated 9/13 - TR LINK

Henry and I arrive at MCO at 1:07 pm
[*]Chik-Fil-A lunch in the MCO food court, 1st timer! Chicken nuggets and waffle fries are the plan (thanks to wdwgirl03 and SoonerGirl for the tips!)
[*]!

:cool1: So glad you are trying the chik-fil-a, but I really love the chicken sandwiches and the sauce! Those waffle fries are pretty darn good, too. Sounds like a perfect way to begin your trip.

I love all your plans, just sorry that you will be leaving a meer two days before I arrive. :headache: Just keep taking those September trips sister cause I'm sure we will run into each other one of these trips! So excited that you are getting to meet up with LL and Liesa.

So where do you get the jalapeno pretzel in AK? and the frozen chai????? I want them both. They sound so super yummy!

I love that picture of Henry when he was so little. He is so precious!

Brooke, your plans sound great. I'm not sure if you've done Cape May Cafe for breakfast before, but you will love it (it is our second favorite after Crystal Palace). The character interaction is terrific.

Oh, and my Grumpy would be very happy to see your Top 3 at the MK includes DUMBO!

LOVE your list!!!

Top 3 IS an excellent idea. I should get working on mine!!!

Love your plans!! Love the new stroller organizer and green crocs! Love LOVE the total Amazon bill!! :thumbsup2

Loved all your pics of the clothes that may or may not make the suitcase cut. You're super smart bringing more than one t-shirt for those hot days. I only brought one for MK day and really wished I had another one to go back into the park that night. I had to wash it THREE times to get the smell out and I'm not a stinky person! EWWWWWWWWWW!!

:lmao:

Your trip will be here so quickly!!! YAY for only 3 wks away!!

Congrats on the Couch 2 5k program!! :worship: at liking to run!!

Can't believe you've never ridden HM!! That's crazy! and awesome that you get to ride it with LL!

Can't wait to see what else your PTR will hold! popcorn::

The Top 3's look great. You definitely need to have a few goals when you go into the parks. :thumbsup2 I hope Henry can go on Soarin', (and doesn't freak).

Brook your "loose" plans sound fantastic. I keep trying that approach for the Oct trip, but somehow it still looks like we'll be running crazy. (Yes I need to finish my TR so I can start myPTR ) I really like the plans for this trip.

And if Sept this year is anything like last year, you'll be able to walk up 15-20 minutes before Illuminations and get a front row spot somewhere along WS.

I am so jealous of your upcoming trip. Mostly because our next one seems so far away and its not even a definate! I need to get back to school to get a good job just so I can go to Disney!

I just want you to know that i tried the corn dog nuggests this trip just because of how much you have raved about them in your TR...you were not lying about these babies! To me there was nothing better at MK at 2am than these guys!

No, unfortunately it does not do that, even though I think the Iphone ought to be able to do it... It does calculate distances by counting steps, so it is like a pedometer. I calculate my distances with this great website: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/ It is not absolutely accurate, but neither is GPS or a pedometer. The only way to be really accurate is measuring it with a device on the ground. But I don't mind! :goodvibes

I can't wear Nike shoes either, that's why I have such a little pouch to attach the chip to my wonderful Asics shoes!

I was thinking about getting one those GPS watches with heart rate monitor since I had to get a new heart rate monitor recently, but I just thought that they were far too expensive for me. But I would love to have one!! :goodvibes

Yes, running can become quite an expensive hobby: not only gadgets, but also shoes (however, this is an area where one really should not be frugal, but go to a good store and get some help in picking out the right pair!), cute clothes and then of course Disney trips to run a Disney Half Marathon!! :rotfl:

I have New Balance shoes...I tired on several pairs of running shoes and I liked these the best...I haven't a clue if they are good ones for me though, next time I'm definitely going into a store for assistance since I plan to keep up this running! I've still gotta look into the various apps for running, and buy an arm band for the iPhone. I will really enjoy having music to listen to while I run too.

I am loving the "excuse" of a Disney trip to run a 5k or marathon. :hyper:

Your plans looks AWESOME Brook! Wish I was one of the DISers that were meeting up with you guys, sounds like so much fun!!!:thumbsup2

And yay for the lunch time ressies! I can't believe I got a shout out!! :thumbsup2 LOL!! I hope it works out as well for you, as it does for us!! :goodvibes

I hope our paths cross in the future! I'd love to meet you and your family! I'm excited about the meets I do have lined up, it's always fun to meet new people that you "know" online.

The other night when we were out to dinner and Henry was crawling all over Joe and ate 2 bites of his meal he mentioned again about how smart of a move he thinks we made by moving those to lunches! I think it will work out really well for this trip because we are close to both Epcot and DHS, so that will help get us to the park earlier than usual, which will make us hungry for a lunch ADR! Sometimes by the time lunch rolls around we had just eaten breakfast. :rolleyes1

The plans look great Brook. I would like to have a trip where we take a more relaxed approach.

Beaches & Cream is pretty good.

We really enjoy the relaxed pace. Hopefully one of our next trips will be longer so we can plan it even better. We once did 10 days and it was awesome!

We've done B&C once and we loved it! Especially the onion rings. Henry got the cutest little "mouse" ice cream there that I think he'd appreciate more now that he'd know what it was!

Watch the magic through my little boy’s eyes, which means rolling with it, stopping to watch the ducks, smell the flowers, play in the pool and the fountains. If we don’t get to something, we don’t get to it, and I will not let it bother me!

:thumbsup2

Your plans sound great!! Very relaxed and go with the flow. I need to repeat that mantra to myself as well!! I tend to get a little crazy when my OCD plans don't get met! :rolleyes1 It's good to remember that it's all about the experience for the kids, and watching them have fun is really the best part!

On that note, I wish I had thought about planning more lunch ADR's than dinner ones. The only one I'm really worried about is Le Cellier, which of course I really don't want to miss! Most of the rest are buffets, which should be easy to keep David entertained.

I don't know about getting the light up toy attached to a milk, but I'm hoping they can, cause I was going to do the same thing! Just to warn you though, I heard that they retired McQueen and now have Buzz- which should be fine with Henry!

Wow- Henry is 39 inches already?! He is tall! David was only 37 when I measured him (not super accurately though!) I'm just hoping he can go on the Barnstormer!

I may just have to steal your idea on the autograph book- that is really cute!! I've been looking on etsy and ebay for good ones, but I think one that can keep them entertained during long waits might be the best!

Can I take you up on your offer of a postcard? I think David would really love it and it would get him excited for our trip- not that he needs any help! Today he has asked me no less than 10 times- "are we going to Dizzy world today? And ride the racecars, and get a balloon?" Soo funny! :rotfl2: I'll PM you my address.

I sometimes get a little worked up and disappointed about missed plans too, I have to remind myself often that "We'll be back" and "It's okay!" and truly, when I look back at old trips the most magical memories are those when we were relaxed and enjoying it all - letting Henry "guide" us a bit by looking at the ducks and whatever else! That really is the best part!

I hadn't thought of the awesome lunch idea either! It was all Kristen!!! Makes a lot of sense though. We've done many dinners with Henry and he has been just fine in the past, but as he grows up, he's getting harder to get to sit still. The buffets really are easier to keep the entertained at too, and you can more easily gauge how long your meal lasts.

I am really hoping they will attach it to the milk! I can't imagine they wouldn't. It'd still pay $7 or whatever for it. And a Buzz would be awesome! Either one, he'll be delighted. I'll try to remember to report back to you about the milk - if I don't please remind me. Also, I'll be posting on FB throughout the trip, so I can post it right away there when we get it.

Henry is tall, a lot of people have mistaken him for older than what he is. I really hope he wants to do Barnstormer again - he didn't exactly enjoy it last time.... but maybe, just maybe! I think the height on that is 34"? So David should be just fine! Have you ever ridden it? It packs a bigger punch than I expected from a "kiddy" coaster. It whips ya a bit and goes pretty fast!

I'm excited about the book! Feel free to steal the idea! I swiped it from other DISers too. :goodvibes It's a great looking book, one page is dedicated to each character. It will be a lot of fun to take back with us over the next few trips and try to get as many as we can! I think it was $12.99 at Amazon.

That is SO cute about David asking about "Dizzy World"! Henry asks almost every day, the countdown has really helped this year because he'll ask and when I say "Not today" he'll point to the top link on the chain and say "Up there!" I'm guessing we won't be able to make it down Main Street without getting a balloon either this year....so far we've been able to distract him off them, but it's inevitable! The racecars are high on the list as well. He had a ball with Joe in there last time, I'm gonna ride this time too!!! And yes, absolutely, I'd love to send David a postcard! Er...have MICKEY said him one! ;) PM me whenever you can with your address.

I've just seen my name more than once - will reply to your PM soon I promise!

And I like the lunch time ressies tip - might just be going back through my own list in a minute!

And now I have to reply to yours! :goodvibes

I think that lunch-time idea is golden. It makes so much sense! It's a perfect time to get out of the heat, relax, eat, reapply sunscreen, change the diapers...the kids will eat and not be quite exhausted yet. Love it!

No worries on our meet. I really hope it happens but if things change, we can change it up. I do want to meet you though, so hopefully something will work out. :goodvibes

We will land around 10AM, so I hope to head over to MK by 12 after ME and checking in. Hopefully that time will work for you.

Your plans sound really great!! A great mix of plans and relaxation. :thumbsup2

Thanks for understanding! I think it will work out just fine - I bet if I hadn't told Joe I put it on the agenda and instead had been stealth about it, just "suggesting" MK for the afternoon he would have rolled right with it. Which gives me ideas for the next trip. He doesn't need to know everything, right??? I REALLY want to ride the HM with you! I love that idea for a meet! :hyper:

That time should work out just fine for us. We'll be slowly making our way from our late morning at Cape May to MK, so we'll get there around Noonish. You got my new number right? With texting? I'll text you when we are there. I think Liesa and I are going to meet that same day for Splash if you want to join us there too!

 I just missed the long update you posted just before my reply...

A few comments: :goodvibes

Wow, Henry is nearly 40 inches. That does open up a lot of rides for him!! You could even take him on Test Track or Splash! :goodvibes

I think with the playgrounds it might be actually worth it to head there first thing in the morning (at DHS after getting fastpass for TSM) to avoid the heat. I think you are there during a very slow time, so don't worry about wait times to much! :goodvibes

For your last day my guess would be that you end up going to Epcot: so much easier to just walk to a park on your last day. :thumbsup2

I love Sunshine Seasons for dinner, it is not crowded at all there in the evening. Also my tip for Illuminations would be: go to the area at the lagoon just where the walkway from Future World arrives, between the two small buildings with shops in them. There is plenty of space, you can sit on the ground while you wait and have a great view, even if you are further in the back. There might be more room for Henry to move around a bit while you are waiting. Also, my educated (;)) guess would be that Epcot is fairly empty on the day you are there and during my trips in January when Epcot was uncrowded I found plenty of space in this area even 10 minutes before show time. However, sometimes there are private events in that area, so better check that beforehand. :goodvibes

I think Henry would LOVE Test Track...it's C-A-R-S! But not sure about Splash-he still seems to get scared easily, the drop might freak him out...we'll have to test his reaction on Pirates first. If he makes it by September 2 I'll let him call the shots. I'll explain the ride to him and then we'll go from there. Whenever it does happen, it will be a BLAST to take him on all the big rides! I can't wait to get his reaction on TT!

I think it was last September that we did the HISTK as the first thing, right after getting TSM FPs, and you are right, it was nicer in there, not quite as nasty. ;) I'm going to file that away in my brain...plus Henry would be still in a great and active mood to run around and have fun.

I can see us ending up in Epcot a lot this trip. Good food, Joe's favorite park, close and easy...Nemo! :rotfl: We'll see!

I love hearing that Sunshine Seasons isn't busy at dinner! It's always such a madhouse for lunch. I know exactly where you are talking about for Illuminations - we've done near that spot once and we really liked it, I'm going to copy this into my notes, thank you for the tip my friend! And I do believe your "educated guess" on Epcot being empty will be CORRECT. (I love the UG!)

I love ALL of your Top 3's. They gave me the warm and fuzzies. :goodvibes

 They give me the warm and fuzzies too! Especially knowing I'll be doing them in twenty days! Aieeeee! :hyper:

That looks like a great plan! I hope you have a super short wait at Visa Meet and Greet. We ended up waiting close to an hour. DH was NOT impressed! And that was at the end of January. So far he says we'll never do this again. So, please go, have a short wait and tell me it was fabulous! :)

I also think you should try out Via Napoli. I have looked over the menu half a dozen times, made out several mental orders and thought about calling for an ADR once or twice. HEaring what you think would be awesome!

Is Henry 39 inches with or without shoes? You have that going for you if your measurements have been done with the shoes off. We took Doug on Soarin at 3 and he loved. At 4 he wouldn't go near it. Goofy kid!

I love the MK rope drop! Great choice! In fact, I had to watch it again after you said you were going. My kids crowded around the computer and asked all about it. It totally puts me in my Disney place. We also really liked the lunch ADRs on our last trip. We were there in August and just as everyone was hot, sweaty amd tired - along came A/C, a long time to sit and good food!

Love the Top 3 idea!! You'll see it in a PTR soon I am guessing!

Ooooh man! If it's an hour we will skip it I'm sure...unless it's the end of the day and we feel like we've covered the whole park. I am hoping for a very short line! The only time I've even noticed the area, was by accident - just happened to walk past it - and the line was only a couple people....hoping for that!

I am very, very tempted to try Via Napoli. Living in NYC we eat a lot of pizza, and it's GOOD pizza. One particular famous pizza eatery in Brooklyn we visited a while back and it was AMAZING. The pizza looks very similar to that at Via Napoli, so that, and the good reviews, made me even more interested. Joe has been passive about it when I've asked him, but I'm thinking once we are there it will be a different story.

Henry is 39" WITHOUT shoes. So I'm thinking with he'll make the cut by September 1. He's been growing like crazy lately too it seems. :thumbsup2 I think this is the only time I've ever wanted my child to grow. I'm glad to hear that Doug liked it his first time! Strange that he wouldn't do it again a year later though! Kids are like that...!

I'm very excited about the MK rope drop. I really hope we make it for the show. I've always resisted watching the videos and things, hoping that some day I'll see it first hand, so I don't really know what it's like! I do know the characters come up in the train - Henry is going to LOVE that, but I don't know the music or song.

I'm glad to see another :thumbsup2 on the lunch idea. It's genius! I'm so HAPPY we could switch. And it made me even happier I got a 12:05 and a 12:15 when asking for a 12:00 at just around 20 days out. Low crowds, low crowds!!! (I excepted that, but it's always nice to get some confirmation on it!)

The Top 3 idea is so good. So, so good. Heidi is a smart, smart lady!

Woooohooo!!!!!!!!:dance3:

It took me like 8 tries, but I GOT IT. :rotfl2: I'm getting faster now.

Your goals look great! That's the approach I like to take to park touring as well.

It makes this so much more enjoyable, doesn't it? Relax, enjoy the moment....!

Hi Brook! All of your plans look wonderful! Isn't it fun to plan?? :goodvibes
I wanted to tell you that when we were at the BWV's we found that the line at the bakery got quite long in the morning and we always wanted to get a move on so we would buy a bakery item from the parks the night before and have that for breakfast. I don't know if that is helpful to know....
Here is a funny thing to get a good laugh at... I was telling DD and DS about getting a Steve McQueen postcard for Henry.. they said, ah mom, who is Steve McQueen??? I said you know, that car from Cars. They both just laughed at me and said, it's Lightening McQueen! Wow... :sad2: I am just sitting here laughing to myself! Good grief!!! I could tell you all about Pirates and Jack Sparrow, guess I need to see Cars again! :rotfl:

Your ticker is so pretty. :dance3: 2 days!

Thank you for the reminder on the BWV bakery! I had read that once, but a long time ago! Very good idea to grab something the night before at the parks - is the bakery open at night too? But I suppose they only have the treats, not the egg sandwiches and stuff in the PM...or maybe Joe can quickly get ready and I'll send him down to get the food on those mornings while H and I get ready. I'm quicker in the morning WITHOUT him anyway!

:lmao: about the "Steve McQueen"! I noticed that in your PM, but figured you were in the midst of doing 284 things at once, so I didn't comment on it. It's alright, you have good reason not to know his exactly name! I can practically recite the move verbatim...but I don't know jack about Jack!

You plans look great. Super relaxed. My plans never seem that relaxed. We tend to plan alot in the morning, because my DS typically wakes at 6:30 or 7, so why not get up and get moving.

Henry being close to 40 inches is exciting. My DS was tall enough for all the 40 inch rides last time, and we had a blast. He rode BTMR 3 times and has already said that he wants to ride it 5 times in November.

My DS loves Star Tours, and since it is the last day it is open, hopefully Henry will make the cut. When my DS just turned 3 he made the cut for Star Tours and not Soarin'. And with Henry's love for cars, I'm sure he would get a kick out of Test Track. In case you haven't heard this, I have read on here that if your child is really close, then go on the rides early in the morning. Supposedly you are just a little bit taller in the morning, because something to do with your spine compressing or something. Don't know if it is true, but maybe worth a try. Also have him start praticing standing up big and tall. Because sometimes a child might be tall enough, but they don't stand up big and tall and therefore is too short. Of course if he doesn't make the cut, it's no biggie. You'll be back. :)

In ways I wish Henry would wake up that early at Disney...but he tends to sleep even later since we are wearing him out so much. 8:00 is about normal for him. And usually we just let him wake us up...now if we'd be disciplined enough to get up before him, get ready and then wake him up we'd be in much better shape for getting to the park at RD...but well....

How old was your DS last time when he did BTMRR? I'm nervous about the coasters for H because he's a bit of a timid kid when it comes to rides...and he'll be JUST three years old. I'm thinking this coming year between 3 and 4 he'll conquer these rides one by one though. I really want him to try Barnstormer again and Soarin'. Star Tours he might be able to do as well, it's a pretty tame ride, I forgot about that one! I think he'd LOVE TT if he didn't freak out on the last lap...but maybe he'll feel secure enough with the seat belt and all, so maybe, just maybe!!! If he's tall enough I'm going to explain the rides to him and let him make the decision on everything. I hope he decides to be brave!

I've heard that about the spine compressing, a good tip to remember! :thumbsup2

Thats true. I had my older DD measured at a park years ago.She was borderline and they gave her a bracelet to wear. One ride wouldn't let her on, and I asked to have a manager come. I said whats the point of an official measure if they don't honor it. And the manager said she could ride. The spind compresses with the more rides you ride, so you get shorter during the day. LOL!

Funny that they wouldn't let her despite the bracelet....:confused3 Strange! But, good for you on getting the manager!! I would do the same instead of having a disappointed kid!

Love your Top Three's!!! Heidi should really patent that! I think we have all used her advice on picking three main things for each day!

Hurray for figuring out how to post from your new phone! That means updates during your trip, right?

I agree! She should patent it! It's a great way to keep yourself in check without freaking out about the plans. Normally our plans are thrown out the window in 8 seconds after stepping foot on property it seems anyway, but it's fun to imagine. ;)

YES! It DOES mean updates - PICTURE UPDATES - during the trip, all on FB! It's easy and a lot of fun! I've already got Twitter and FB on the phone, and figured out how to do the picture to FB. I can also get on the DIS, though it's a bit tedious to type/update a lot - but we also will have internet in the room, so I hope to get onto the DIS a few times and do an update here as well.

Yay!! Are you loving it??

I am! At first I was a little unsure about it - I liked it, and liked the idea of what it could do, but didn't know HOW to do it. I'm starting to get the hang of it now and really enjoying it! It's great having a quick camera too for random pictures...they aren't the best, but they are something at least! :thumbsup2

Oooh a vote for the sandwich! Maybe I'll get H the nuggets (and steal one) and me the sandwich. :scratchin What kind of sauce is it? I'm actually REALLY excited about trying Chik-Fil-A. :lmao: I've heard so much about it!

I'm so bummed about missing you and several other DISers by a matter of days...! I'm excited about the ones I do have, but wish they would ALL work! Too bad I just can't stay for 3 weeks. ;) We really like September, it's a great month to go, if this trip goes as well as last September's, I'm thinking this will be a regular time for us.

Consulting my notes on the pretzel and chai....the pretzel can be found at a cart near the entrance to ITTBAB, or near the safari. Another poster said they saw them in a lot of places all over AK too. The frozen chai is at the Anandapur Tea Company, which I believe is in Asia, near the corner where the path from Africa comes from kinda on the way to EE (if that makes any sense!)

We haven't done CMC before! I'm excited to read such a good review of it! It was hard to nix Crystal Palace for it, since we had such a great morning there last year.

I'm glad to bring a smile to Grumpy's face!!!! :rotfl2: It really is a MUST DO! It is just so Disney to me! And taking my little man on that is a very sweet moment for me. :cloud9:

LOVE your list!!!

Top 3 IS an excellent idea. I should get working on mine!!!

Isn't it a genius idea?! I love it! Gives some organization/goals for the day, but not too many to end up in disappointment.

Your ticker says 3 weeks from today!!!!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1::dance3:

I read this yesterday and did this  :hyper: :dance3: Then I realized my Google countdown was WRONG. It was saying 22 days, so H's countdown chain was off a day too. :rotfl: I don't mind one bit, we are a day closer than I thought! Woot! And tomorrow will bring on the teeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeens!!!!!!!! :yay: (how many smilies can I use in one reply????)

Can't wait to see what else your PTR will hold! popcorn::

I remember last September dripping my way through the parks. It was icky. I like the choices, I like a clean shirt! If the suitcase can handle it, it's coming!!!

Tonight is a run night and the weather has been BEAUTIFUL for 2 days now. It was 75 yesterday and about the same today. It's going to be a perfect evening for running! I'm going to repeat what I have done the last 3 runs because I don't feel like I've "conquered" running for 5 minutes straight yet. The 20 minute run is looming on the horizon, I figure I better get this 5 minute down before trying to take on 8 or 20! :scared1:

I know, I know! Haven't done the Mickey Waffle, popcorn or HM! :sad2: All three maybe be taken care of this trip!

Love the plans the top 3 approach. Congrats on the new phone.

I was so geeking out on the phone last night. It was fun! Joe was laughing at my reactions to what it could do. Technology is so much fun!

The Top 3's look great. You definitely need to have a few goals when you go into the parks. :thumbsup2 I hope Henry can go on Soarin', (and doesn't freak).

I do like having a few goals, but usually I only write a few down, but have a dozen more in the back of my mind on how things should go. I need to stop that because I always end up with a twinge of sadness if we miss something...which is SILLY.

I so hope he doesn't freak. I don't think he'll realize how high up we are and just get way into the "movie". I think. I hope.

It always starts out loose and slowly (or quickly!) fills in it seems. There are other things I have wanted to put on the list, but have resisted. We'll be so much happier if we just take it easy.

That's how it was for us last September too. The parks were so empty. It was AWESOME. Plus, I've done all the UG recommended days (except one I think, and that one is a crowd level of 2...no need to worry there!).

Oh, I hope it becomes a definite! I know this trip was a surprise for us - very unexpected. So maybe, just maybe you'll be able to squeak on in there somewhere too! :wizard:

Woooooooo! A CDN convert!!!! :dance3: Aren't they tasty?? Something about them....I never, ever crave corn dogs except for those. I think the view helps too. ;)

It's the best way to do a trip, isn't it? :goodvibes

Well, I said packing would be the next update...but I need to get a few things organized yet for that update...so instead I gotta talk about the new gadget!

As you all know I recently got the new iPhone 4. I went from a $20 cheapie Target phone to this. Quite the upgrade.

I have had an iPod for years, and Joe has an iPad, so I knew some aspects of what it could do and how it would function. I knew it could be quite the powerful tool for different aspects of life, including planning Disney trips.

I was a bit overwhelmed at first. I knew it could do a lot, but I didn't know how to do it - or what apps to get to do what I wanted it to do. I read a dozen threads here on the DIS about various apps. I read other sites. I read reviews...

Then I read about one little program called "Evernote".

This program is like a fancypants "Note" tool. You download a program on your PC (or Mac) and can type up notes and it syncs (without hooking it up!) to your iPhone. From your iPhone you can do voice notes, video notes and picture notes. It was exactly what I was looking for. I basically copied all the Trip Notes I had in a file on my computer, cleaned it up a bit and then plopped it into Evernote. Now everything is on my iPhone. Quickly accessible in an easy to read format. My Top 3's are there. My Souvie List. Airline info. The list of people I am sending postcards to. Everything. So slick.

Then I put our ADRs on the Calendar app and set an alarm for each of them to remind me. I also input the confirmation number here.

Then I downloaded an app with the Disney maps, and it has a few other neat features that I need to look into.

So with just a few taps on my phone I have everything I used to carry in a big 'ol book. I know we can leave that extra park bag back in the room! Between the rockin' stroller bag we now have and the iPhone, we are set!

And as for doing live updates and making notes for the TR, that is covered too. :yay: I will be doing live updates - with pictures! and possibly video! - on Facebook (if we aren't already friends, PM me and I'll PM you my name back). I also downloaded another app called "Dragon Dictation" where I can talk into my phone and it types out what I am saying. Then I can easily upload that text to Facebook, so I don't even have to sit there and type it out. Seriously cool. Dragon Dictation, along with Voice Memos and even Videos will also be useful for the TR.

All in my phone.

It amazes me.

I'm a techno-geek. I have been for years. But this whole cell phone world is new to me, I've never dove in, I've resisted it for years saying I could never spend that much on a PHONE. But I'm really glad I have, it's so much more than a phone. Matter of a fact I've used the phone feature the least so far. I'm really enjoying it! It's easy and quick and everything is right at my fingertips. No more papers or books to sort through or carry around! I also love having a point and shoot camera right at my finger tips.

So in all, I'm a happy geeky camper with my new phone - and expect LIVE picture updates straight from WDW! :yay:

Also - I commented on this above in a reply, but I realized yesterday that my Google countdown, which I've been relying on, was WRONG. I never changed it to September 3 instead of September 2. I was elated to change it, see 20 DAYS on the display and have Henry rip off an extra Mickey link on the countdown. :thumbsup2 Tomorrow we are in the TEENS! I'm so excited!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is seriously cool!!! A lot of my friends have iPhones, and so far I have been able to resist. However, if you keep singing its praises that may have to change sometime in the future! :lmao:

That sounds amazing! I have gone from the cheapi to a palm pre, but I have my eyes on the droid next!

And hooray for losing that day!

Hi Brook,
Long time reader here (even though I rarely comment) but I wanted to tell you about 2 iPhone apps I love. One is mouse memo. You can list your hotel, flights, adr's and all your confirmation numbers in it (although you seem to have that covered.) But the other is the Toy Story Mania app.
It does cost $5.99, but it is so much fun and very addicting. I'm really hoping it helps improve my game so I can beat the pants off of my husband on our next trip!!
