Ok everyone,

Its spring, Easter is over and it's time to buckle down and committ to making ourselves healthier.

I'm heavier than I've been since I originally took off my weight. I joined WW again on Saturday. For some reason its the only way I seem to be able to lose the weight. There is something about being accountable by going to the meetings and getting weighed in. Its been like that in the past too. I try to get back on track, thinking I can do it on my own without paying the $14 per week, but until I walk in that door I can't do it on my own.

So far today I'm doing good. I walked the stairs this morning. I've had a bowl of Kashi Cereal with milk, a Kashi forzen meal for lunch. I'm going to Whole foods right now to get the foods I need to keep me on the right path.

I will use the stairs - no elevators from now on. I also want to start getting up in the morning and walking.

Who else is with me - We can do this - one day at a time!

I will jump in the Summer Vacation Challenge!

My goal is to exercise 20+ minutes each day this week. I don't care if I have to walk the steps in my house to get it done! I go to the gym 3x week but I need to make sure I walk my dog or do something else active on the other days as well!

I am also taking a multi-vitamin every day!

Yeah! Thanks for joining me!

Ok - i said I wasn't going to use the elevator, but I did. I had two bags from Whole foods I was bringing up and the elevator was on the first floor so I wimped out. 4 flights of stairs with two heavy bags isn't that easy, lol. So my plan to make up for that is in a few minutes to go for a walk and use the stairs up and down.

Whats the challenge as we count down to our summer vacations? I'm at WDW in about 67 days and I need to keep being good......actually I need to bump that up to being GREAT!

I'm with you. I MUST lose some more weight before the summer. I have a business trip planned in June (with my husband's co-workers), a family vacation in August and another one of my husband's business trips planned for September, so I MUST do well.

I have such a hard time losing weight (tyroid condition). Even with meds, it's very hard.

I've lost 12 pounds since January 2nd. 24 pounds since January, 2007. And about 65 pounds since 1996 (I TOLD YOU I LOSE WEIGHT VERY SLOWLY :rotfl: )

Anyway, I bought an elliptical right after Christmas and I really believe it has helped me. I was doing really well for the first couple of months this year, but the last 2 weeks I've been slipping (with Palm Sunday and Easter and my daughter's birthday).

I'm ready to get back on track with eating right and exercise. The summer will be here before you know it!

Hi there - The challenge is just to lose the weight, get healthy etc. as we countdown to our vacations. I have till the end of June to get this weight off. It's nice to have others to check in with etc. I'll update the thread weekly so we have a place to check in!

So today is going good. I have 22 WW points (using my old #- not the new way they do it) - I used 28, so I used 6 flex points today.

Tomorrow I want to work at getting exactly at 22 since its the first few days of being on track. I find if I have a few days of low points when I first get started, before my body gets used to it - I tend to lose more that way.

Another day today -Remember 1 day at a time.

I got a plan today. I've had my Kashi Autumn Harvest this morning. Got my lunch with leftovers packed (now just have to remember not to forget it).

Planning on taking the stairs at work today. I also bought some organic green tea yesterday to drink throughout the day. I find that helps me feel like I'm having a treat. I'm making taco's with whole wheat soft tortilla's tonight. Yummy!!

So does everyone else have a plan today?

Sounds like you have a good plan in motion.

I am trying to get back on track. Even though I have PLENTY of leftovers from Easter, I decided to cook a bunch of chicken breasts last night so that I have healthy lunches all week. I usually do that every Sunday, but since it was Easter I didn't do it.

Anyway, I had a combo of Kashi Autumn Harvest and Kashi Heart to Heart with a banana and OJ. I ALWAYS measure my cereal to make sure I don't eat too much. (I can't be trusted:rotfl: )

Lunch is a whole wheat wrap with a chicken breast with tomatos and carrot sticks.

I had a banana for mid morning snack and I have some almonds for this afternoon.

I am also trying to drink alot of green tea.

I exercised last night for about 30 minutes.

I exercised for an hour last night and I burned over 500 calories! Then I came home and walked the dog.

My goal is to do a good strength workout tonight and walk the dog again.

Breakfast was measured rice krispies and measured milk. Lunch was a frozen panini with Edamame. I have a snack bag of veggies (broccoli, carrots, celery, peppers) and black raspberries to munch on this afternoon.

Not sure what I want for dinner. I have some broccoli slaw I want to try to use but not sure what to do with it! Any ideas?

Alright I am in. Since BL is almost over, I am going to need a new group to keep me going. This week I have vowed to do NO exercise (see my huge scare thread), so it will be hard to maintain this week let alone lose, but I am determined!
Lets see, my summer schedule starts NOW.

March - 28-30- weekend at my father in laws house (not really something I want to "look good" for, but it still messes me up to be gone for a weekend)

April- a trip to Hershey Park (really looking forward to it, but I need to get my knees in shape to be able to walk that much without pain)
-First fitting of my custom wedding dress-April 25th- obviously need to look good

May- two weddings one of which my fiancé is the best man, so I have already been warned by the groom that I will be sitting at the head table and will be in the professional photos, so REALLY need to look good

June- yet another wedding
- and the start of a weeks vacation by a lake-so swimsuits are required

July- the completing of said vacation
- My aunts 60th birthday, so I will be seeing relatives I only see every couple of years
- yet another wedding- this one in Mexico so I really really need to look good

August- a week or two at the beach, so lots of swim suits
- my moms wedding of which I am the maid of honor really really really need to look good

September- my own wedding :bride: so i don't think i even need to say how good I need to look!

I have lost 10 pounds this year and although good, I was hoping for 20 at this point. I have so much going on, so I need to get my act together now and really start to lose! Oh and with all these parties and weddings, let's not think about all the cake and other temptations there will be! :rolleyes1

I'll check back in and respond to each of you personally later today - wanted to check in quick this morning. I've had a nice bowl of Kashi Autumn harvest with milk this morning. I've had 2 full days of being on track and it feels good. The scale is moving and that also feels great!

Finally I feel in control again -taking it day by day!

I am in!!!! This is the first time I've looked at the WISH board and I'm loving what I'm seeing.;)

I thought I'd join since I started the same time as you!

I want to lose 15 pounds. Let me rephrase that: I WILL lose 15 pounds:thumbsup2

I'm beginning by watching my calorie intake. I did so good yesterday, total for the day was 1,300.

So far today I've had one packet of oatmeal for breakfast 150 cal. I'm only drinking water with a white tea to go packet that I add = no calories. For lunch I'll have a small salad with a packet of starkist albacore white tuna and only 1 tbsp of dressing & one cheese stick. Total lunch calories = 250. Dinner I'm having a ham omlett which will be around 400. That will allow me extra calories so that i can have some sort of snack at night - that is my hardest time around 7:00 p.m. I want something;)

I'm hoping to stick to this for a week or two so that my body adjusts.

How does that sound?

Hi - glad you are joining us - Have you tried Sparkpeople to keep track of your calories. I love it for tracking. Makes it really easy!

Your calories for today are around 800 at the moment - just make sure you don't go below 1200 or you will not lose weight and your body will go into starvation mode and hold on the weight and calories.

I find it's good for me to list all my things I have and where I will have trouble. With a plan you will do great!

I hope your dinner turned out well and you finished out the day doing well. Sounds like you are doing great and right on track.

Great job on the exercise. I'm going to add that in a week or two- trying to stick to the one day at a time mentality and get my eating back on track before I overwhelm myself. I have been adding walking so that helps.

I was also worried about your calorie intake. Join SparkPeople.com and it will give you a range of calories, protein, fat, and carbs that you should be eating. I've also heard you should have 1/4 of your daily calories at breakfast. I'd also be worried that you aren't getting the nutrients you need.

Remember to get a balance of fruits and vegetables and drink your water!

Keep up the good work!

Thanks for checking in. My dinner was very good actually. One of my challenges is that I cook for me and my grandmother. She is not fond of vegetables or anything healthy for that matter. I think she could live on hamburger meat, like meat loaf or spaghetti, forever and be happy!

I sauteed some Jenni-O turkey burgers in 1/4 cup of BBQ sauce with 1/2 cup of pineapple chunks and juice. They were delicious! I also made the broccoli slaw and it was sooo yummy. We also had some roasted potatoes.

I took the dog for an hour walk instead of going to the gym and doing the strenth training. I was home late from work and the gym would be packed, so I wasn't up for the gym. I did however walk for an hour, so I think I did ok.

So what is everyone's plans for dinner tonight? I have taken out thin cut chicken breasts, but I am searching for a recipe. I love them baked in fat-free italian dressing.

I have no idea what is for dinner. My fiancé is throwing a bit of a fit lately. We have fallen into a dinner rut (I fully admit that) but he and I are so very different. He will only eat beef and pork and only certain cuts of them (he is not a hot dog or hamburger man, fillet Mignon all the way). As for me, I only eat fish (and lately chicken for lack of anything else)and I must admit I am picky as to what kind of fish (cant get behind salmon for example, but I  tilapia) Sides are the same problem, he wont do any type of pasta and he wont do brown rice. And he is really anti-veggie, although i have been making progress with corn and peas (he ate both last week! :yay: )So we have fallen into a bit of a run...
Monday -pork chops/ fish- roasted potatoes- veggie
Tuesday- chicken breast-rice-veggie
Wednesday-steak/ crab cake- baked potato- veggie
Thursday- pizza (I have a little and usually eat a big salad)
Friday-Sunday we go out

That is literally it. So alas I hope he thinks of something, since I am out of ideas!
