Countdown Cruisers - Ringing in the New Year on the Disney Wonder - 12/31/2013

We just booked this when we were on this same cruise on the Magic yesterday! Wasn't sure if I could talk my husband into it because we are on the Fantasy in June. But Galveston is so close to us and who knows if Disney will ever sail out of Galveston again. For the first time in 6 cruises we aren't taking our kids. I have mixed feelings about this.

We did a NYE cruise in '09. It was incredible! I don't particularly care for NYE but this one was fun. They had the fireworks on NYE on that cruise instead of on Pirate night.

You will have to be our expert NYE cruiser. I usually do nothing to celebrate NYE, but can't wait to do it with Disney!

Wow that would be awesome to have fireworks on NE onboard. It's going to be a great trip. We thinking about having a back to back with this one not sure either before or after still trying to work it out because 4 night is not enough -- need more disney-- LOL. Can't wait

Thanks! So ksloane, you are actually going on back to back cruises? We were trying to decide between the 27th or 31st sailing and I guess one way to solve that is to just go on both! Wish that was in our budget! So do you get to stay in the same cabin the whole time or are you switching cabins?

The cruise is many months away for us so I'm not doing much other than trying to talk others into going with us. And slowly reading through threads to help me plan and jotting down useful things to pack, etc.

So for those of you who have stopped in Cozumel before, have you done any of the excursions and do you get them through Disney or get something on your own? I have only been to Cancun once - long ago, before marriage and kids. Had a lot of beach time then, as well as Mayan ruins and snorkeling. My boys (will be 15 and 12) are decent swimmers but my daughter (will be 7) will need lots of swim lessons in the next year to get to that point. Hubby is saying he might just stay on the ship in Cozumel!

We had scheduled the catamaran excursion in Cozumel during our spring break cruise however because if weather conditions. It was canceled so we just did some shopping and my son wanted to head back to the ship to go to the vibe ( teen club). I only got to him in the morning and at breakfast the rest of the day and after dinner he was gone. At least he had a great time
Hopefully this cruise we might schedule again the same excursion to get the catamaran ride.

I'm doing a back to back! We'll be on the cruise prior to this one.

I was really worried they wouldn't have the fireworks and big NYE celebration since it was the day we board but when we rebooked last week the CM promised us they would. I sure hope she was right!

NYE cruise is booked. I am going with my Mom, Dad, and 2 year old daughter. Super excited about ending 2013 and beginning 2014 with Disney. This is the families' first Disney cruise.

4 of us travel, DH, ME, DD (10), DS (9). This will be our 4th cruise and we have been on all 4 ships!!!

I am hoping the ship is still decorated in holiday decorations!!!

Yes, we will have to call and get the details I guess. We have done a 4 night before on the Dream but nothing on NYE before. I would assume that NYE is our fomal night, then we have a pirate night and 2 casual dinning nights..that is my guess?!?

Correct. No formal night. There is a semi-formal night. Or at least that's how it was on our 5 night cruise.
