countdown banner for desktop.

I'm probably being a little (or a lot) numb here but I have made my countdown ticker and put it on my signature, but can anyone help me (in easy-peasy terms!!) how to now put the countdown onto my desktop?! I know I managed it for our first trip in 1995 but haven't been able to do it since, and now I have a new computer (running windows 7 if that makes a difference?!) I'm completely at a loss. Any help gratefully accepted!! thanking you in advance!
