Count Down With me for August!

Hi monymony,
I just joined the boards and I wanted to say hi and that my family and I will be at POP aug 22-27th. It will be our first WDW trip as a family: DH, me and DD (3).
:cool1::cool1::cool1:

Well :welcome: to the countdown!

My biggest mistake was taking my daughter around the corner to see the castle at age 2, and when she saw it, her eyes were lit, her mouth opened wide, and she looked at me with her big blue eyes and said, "I better get my dress on!" (referring to the dress we had back at the room for her dinner with Cinderella at 1900 park fare)

Did I have a video-recorder or camera ready? Nope!!!!! Just be prepared for all kodak moments.

First trips are the best! and have lots of tissue at the ready.....;)

Arrival date august 29th to sept 5th. Hey its still in august right? First night eating at the California grill and watch the MK fireworks from there. Hope it helps the beginning of the trip and creates a continued upwards of fun.

For those of you with little ones, I'll pass along a tip that was popular on the DIS boards years ago. May still be on the families board, but I don't visit that one often....

Divide your kiddos clothes up by day and put the days outfit (shirt, shorts, socks, undies, hair bows, etc.) in a 2 gallon ziplock bag. Makes packing easy, makes getting ready easy - everything is in one place. You pull out the bag, toss it to dad or kid and there is no hunting for missing sock or whatever. With multiple kids, you would not believe how easy it makes the mornings!

Have fun!

We don't leave for a while yet, but my daughter wanted to pack her suitcase and I did this. I can tell you right now, it's going to save a lot of time. My daughter hasn't quite grasped the "matching" idea and taking the time now has saved me a lot of time in the World!!!!

You mean like this? These are from a previous trip, no I am not packed yet. Haven't even started......Works for big kids too, just saying.

Those two small suitcases were packed for a family of 6 for our mini 4 day trip to Disney in 2008. It saves lots of space in the suitcases using ziplocks.

THAT IS WHAT I FORGOT TO PUT ON MY LIST!!!!!

ziplocks

Thank you!:worship:

4 week countdown... (actually, this time 4 weeks from now we will be back in our Poly room after a long MK day...)

They are adding Fantasmic second shows during the week of Aug 15th and 22nd.

Sherabby: Thanks for the heads up, they changed the park hours too and now I can update, another list!

Great! Glad to help! I'm getting a worried feeling that free dining may have made it a little bit more crowded for the last two weeks of August.
The crowd calendar is showing 7 and 8's and on our Tuesday a 9.

Yeah- what's the deal with Tuesdays?? I noticed the same thing the other day. I have touring plans routed to my phone (although I plan on hitting every morning EMH, which is a touring plans taboo...) I also found this cool "rides" app for my Droid (free), since I no longer have access to Mobile magic :sad2:

Staying at the POP the night of the 16th, then spending the 17th-22nd at the Wilderness Lodge. This will be my first time staying at a Disney resort and needless to say I am sooooo stoked!

Anyone else gonna be around at the times we're there?

I don't know if I'm allowed to link this but here is the website:

I was wondering why there is a trend for Tuesday's to be a high 9 or even a 10 throughout the month of July and August.

Just in case, I added it to my favorites to take a look at later. Thanks!

I have an ap for my droid backflip called Ride Hopper lite, and it was free, there is a paying version for $ .99

Lots of people here going the same time as you, :welcome: to our little happy place!
