Couldn't wait for the holiday any longer, so...

We booked our super 3 week Disney holiday at about 520 days out and we're now only 59 days away (amazing how quickly it went by!)... But we decided we could not wait any longer, so to pass the time we booked at a long weekend at Disneyland Paris at the end of this month, LOL! So when we come back, it'll only be 36 days away :yay:

We pop over to DLP quite often. It gives us our Disney fix and fills in the gaps between Florida trips.

Yeah - I think we're just going to get Annual Passes for DLP. The price works out very similar to a 3 day ticket anyway (the length of our stay this trip).

I was intrigued by the 35% hotel discount offered on the AP. I'm going to assume this is effectively a 'con' though - i.e. the rates offered online for hotel+ticket is probably cheaper than the rate for just the hotel room - otherwise it'd be a steal.

Its actually up to 35% discount and isn't available on all the hotels all of the time. You are right as well that often its cheaper to book a package with tickets included than room only with AP as any special offers aren't applicable to room only.
Most people with AP either stay off site - the partner hotels are quite nice and reasonably priced or you can book a room for one adult (and any free children on offers) then add the 2nd or extra persons at check in and they will pay only room tax for the night (usually literally a few euros per night) - the extra people get breakfast/access to EMH etc same as if they had booked a package. Pop over to DLP board if you want more info on this as its done quite regularly by people there

Are you staying off site this trip?

Very interesting, thank you!

Yes, we're staying off site this trip. We thought we'd try out AirBnB for the first time. We found an amazing looking new build Spanish style 2 bedroom apartment just next door to Disney (5-10 mins by car/bus or a 30 min walk), with a small outside terrace/balcony that actually has views of the castle and fireworks. And it was only £50/night!

Though I would love to try out the Davy Crockett log cabins, both in the summer and winter (the idea sounds quite cosy!). Will be interesting to see what kind of discount they offer on these with an AP.

If you're booking a short stay package and staying on site use the French disneylandparis website. It usually works out almost half price compared to the UK site :)

I never knew this and haven't been to DLP for years because the price was always extortionate, I will tell my sister as she is planning a trip next year :thumbsup2

Thats not always the case as there are different offers for different countries at different times.
Ive just checked for December for 4 nights and its nearly £400 more on the French site as there is an offer on for 2 nights free on the UK site.

Its always worth checking different sites though and you can book through any countries offers - just fill in your normal address and leave the country as the one with the offer (they don't mail anything to you) or you can phone and ask to book using a certain countries offer

Ah yes, DLP was on the news for this recently. I believe the EU are about to come down hard on DLP for this - since everyone across Europe should be getting the same(ish) deal. Apparently the German's pay the most in Europe to go to DLP.
