I am trying to plan a Disney trip oin a budget. I had planned to stay off site in a condo, BUT that may not be an option anymore and I already have airfare and vacation planned for two weeks. If we were to stay onsite the only afordable way to do two weeks would be to stay at POP for the entier two weeks. I have crunched numbers every which way and POP is the only resort in our budget unless we change the trip to only 10 days, but then have to change airfare all my dinner ressies etc. (oh, we'll be there one week with free dining, if I could get both weeks with free dining I would do it for sure, but our dates are August 14-28) Anyway we have stayed at ASMU and I know the rooms are small, but the food court was nice and the pool was big enough and the kids do love the theming. Am I crazy to even consider this. (Also, we bring a fan to block out noise so hopefully that wouldn't be a factor for us). Sorry so long.

I'm sure you won't be at the room too much. How many of you will there be? Two weeks will be wondrful. You won't have to worry about cramming everything into 6 or 7 days. I would just keep all my ressies, stay at POP, eat for FREE, and have fun!!!!!

Let me put it this way, if i could do Disney for 2 weeks rather than 10 days I would not care where I was staying as long as it was onsite. I have never stayed at POP but i have stayed at ASMo and would not hesitate to stay there for 2 weeks. Don't cut the trip short!!

In a heartbeat we love the value resorts and all they have going on we are DVC members but still go and stay at the value resorts on almost every trip just because we love them.

If I could afford two weeks at Disney, I would do it anywhere on the property!

Have a wonderful trip! Enjoy! :)

We stayed @ ASMO 2001.
When we checked in had a 2nd fl facing pool.
NOISY!!
I stopped by the desk requested please something QUIET!!
No problem all I had to do was pack up.
After a day @ park checked in @ desk.
They gave us directions to our new room.
Our things were moved to a room facing the parking lot.
If you check in early better change not having to move.
Also ask for top fl. don't have to listen to people over your head.
We checked in @ 9:00 P.M
Good Luck

We just did it, actually we did 15 nights at Pop. It was great and the fastest 2 weeks (and 1 day) of our lives. We never got bored of any part of our trip. We do 2 weeks every spring and it's never a problem. Last year we did 2 weeks at Pop also. We ate a few breakfasts in the food court and just a couple of dinners, but we mostly ate everywhere else. If you do the dining plan you most likely will be eating every place else too. We were in the 90s building, facing the parking lot and main building. A great location and a quick walk to the food court and bus area, took less than 2 minutes.

i would take 2 weeks at the POP ANYTIME over 1 night in the most expensive property onsite....or anywhere else for that matter.

We just got back Friday (17th of June) from 13 nights at POP. We did 2 weeks at pop a year ago as well. It was great and we didn't get tired of it. You save a lot of money staying there and in reality you're not in the room a ton, so it works out nice. I would take more nights of Disney and stay at a value any day over less nights at a moderate or deluxe. We had 2 joining rooms with 5 adults and two small children. Sure we bumped into each other a few times, but that was part of the fun.

And POP is great cause you can see the fireworks from the resort - a neat benefit.

I wouldn't hesitate if I had the chance to stay two weeks.

And the cool thing is that when you get home your house will feel like a mansion!

We stayed in pop for 11 days and weren't ready to leave. In a lot of ways it is superior for long stays because: 1. the food court is convenient and cheap and has more variety than moderates or deluxe. 2. the courtyard and lobbies have such a variety of things to see. 3. you can overlook the quiet lake and go for scenic walks 4. transportation is actually superior to deluxe. 5. kids love the icons and fountains. 6. you can use the microwave, refillable mugs, toaster oven and save $$$. We're going back in December for 10 nights. :cool1:

We are doing 13 nights at ASMu in July. The only way we could afford that many nights is because we are staying in a value. ANd we don't mind one bit....because we will be at WDW!!!!

We stayed at POP for one night last year. It is a fun themed resort, but we did have noisy neighbors. The rooms are small, but the pool and food court are awesome.

We have a big family(of 7) so staying there for any length of time would be frustrating for us.

I find the beginning of your post funny - "planning a budget trip and staying on-site for 2 weeks". For us that would be close to impossible.

You will have a great time, because you will be at the happiest place on earth. :flower:

My only asuggestion would be to get a 4th floor room to minimize the issue of noise (if there even was an issue) two weeks of neighbors above tap dancing at 3 a.m. could get old. But otherwise, I would not hesitate to do it!

Hello!
I say go for it! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the values! I don't mind the rooms and noise at all. Actually, I've had noisy neighbors at all kinds of hotels so I don't think it is that bad. Two weeks at Disney would be completely magical :wizard: !!

We just returned tonight from 10 days at POP and wish we were still there! It is a really great resort, and our rooms have always been very clean. We have stayed at values, moderates, and deluxe and POP is one of our favorites! The more time we can spend at Disney, the better we like it. :)
