my sister goes in this morning at 10am for a biopsy. she's 24. she's had this lump on her neck for a while now and i guess she had an ultrasound done on it last week and her doctor decided that he wanted to do a biopsy to see what it was. we're all a little nervous right now...the lump is located right next to a major artery. one tiny slip and...i don't even want to think about it. my mom and brother are with her now so at least she's not alone.

i have faith that everything will be alright, but my mom's very freaked out at the moment. she's a nurse and knows what could happen with this procedure...

i've seen the power of the prayers and pixie dust you guys shower others with...i'm hoping you have a little bit more in there for my sister and us...

UPDATE:
she came through the biopsy ok. but she won't have the results until monday...i guess due to the location of the lump, she had to remain sitting up through the entire thing. and i guess they also didn't do any numbing or anything. she was wide awake through the whole thing! they were supposed to have done the procedure using ultrasound to make sure that they were far enough away from this artery, but for whatever reason, the ultrasound wasn't done! that freaked my mom out a little. they poked her 3 times and then my sister got really lightheaded and passed out. they stopped at that point. hopefully, they will be able to get good results without having to do this again...

thanks for the prayers and pixie dust guys...now we just have to wait for the results...

Brandie

Prayers and PD on the way for your sister, you and your family.

Hang in there. Be sure to keep us posted.

One already on the way.

One very nice thing about PD, and for sure about prayer, Brandie, is inventory....they have no limits as to how much can be both asked for, and given. As you said, you have seen the power of both in the past, and that is good.

Your sister, along with you and all your family will be in my prayers. Please let us know how all goes for her, and don't worry about the procedure itself.

{Hugs}

I will pray for your sister. I know how scary this stuff like this is. I'm sure she'll come through the procedure just fine. I'll pray that her biopsy results are the best possible. Take care.

LOADS OF PIXIE DUST AND PRAYERS ON THEIR WAY! I HOPE EVERYTHING GOES WELL AND PLEASE KEEP US POSTED.

Lots of good thoughts and prayers for your sister. I had a lump removed from my neck when I was 25. Luckily it was bynine (sp). I am sure it is just an inflamed lymphnode.

Please keep us posted.

Jen

Prayers for your sister. I hope this turns out to be nothing serious.

My thoughts, prayers and pixie dust on the way. And it doesn't have far to go. :)

I'm hoping for the best for your sister. {{hugs}}

I just now saw this Brandie. Glad she made it through the procedure okay. My thoughts and prayers are with her and all of you right now.

Oh My! What a scary and tough procedure. Glad its over and Ill send some prayers & pixie dust for the results.

I saw this earlier but it was just before my screen froze again :rolleyes:

Prayers and PD on the way Brandie and {{{HUGS}}} for both of you !!

So it was a needle aspiration? I had one of those once but not in my neck.

I hope the results are benign and she doesn't have to go through this again.
