my sister goes in this morning at 10am for a biopsy. she's 24. she's had this lump on her neck for a while now and i guess she had an ultrasound done on it last week and her doctor decided that he wanted to do a biopsy to see what it was. we're all a little nervous right now...the lump is located right next to a major artery. one tiny slip and...i don't even want to think about it. my mom and brother are with her now so at least she's not alone.
i have faith that everything will be alright, but my mom's very freaked out at the moment. she's a nurse and knows what could happen with this procedure...
i've seen the power of the prayers and pixie dust you guys shower others with...i'm hoping you have a little bit more in there for my sister and us...
UPDATE:
she came through the biopsy ok. but she won't have the results until monday...i guess due to the location of the lump, she had to remain sitting up through the entire thing. and i guess they also didn't do any numbing or anything. she was wide awake through the whole thing! they were supposed to have done the procedure using ultrasound to make sure that they were far enough away from this artery, but for whatever reason, the ultrasound wasn't done! that freaked my mom out a little. they poked her 3 times and then my sister got really lightheaded and passed out. they stopped at that point. hopefully, they will be able to get good results without having to do this again...
thanks for the prayers and pixie dust guys...now we just have to wait for the results...
