could someone please explain the difference

My kids were asking for a snack, so I go and get them fruit snacks. I only have 2 packages of the Winnie the pooh, so I open a new box (Mickey ones). Well the 2 who had pooh now want the mickey ones, and are carrying on until I give them a new package. Its the same thing with ice pops heaven forbid if they dont all have the same color. I waste more food this way.

And when they get older like say ohhhhhh 11 and 14 it still happens only with things other than snacks. DS 11 got one set of black and blue pens for school......few days later we have DS 14 with us and he gets "gel" blue and black pens....you'd have thought the first set DS 11 got were totally worthless. They did this with wakeboards one year......never again! Now they have to chose 1 wakeboard and share or pay for it themselves.
