Hi. This is the first time I've ever been here. An exchange sounds like a really fun idea but I'm not sure how this all works. I've tried to find a thread explaining all of the details but I didn't have much luck. I apologize if I overlooked the information. I was hoping someone would be so kind as to send me a link to the info if one exists, or if some one could explain this to me. Thank you so much! -Roni

Hi Roni. Exchanges are alot of fun. There are many different ones, and the rules might be a bit different for each exchange. But, in the first post, the exchange host would explain what is expected out of that particular exchange. Usually there is a minimum to be sent. You can stick to that minimum or spend more if you wish. There is usually also a theme-example if it is the Christmas Present Exchange, you would send your person a Christmas gift, and wrap it. If you want to sign up for any of the exchanges, you will need to send the requested info. to the exchange host. Once sign ups have ended, they will send you a name, address, and any other info. of the person you are sending to. There is always a send by date. Once you have sent out your exchange, post on the thread so that the host is able to keep track of all mailings. Once you have received your exchange, post on the same thread, and reveal what you had received, and who it is from. There are alot of different exchanges so keep checking back. And, if you have any other questions, feel free to ask!

As a newbie as well - I did the letter one, and WAY didn't think of shipping! of course I let the kids do it...but some of the stuff was bigger items so the cost of shipping was double the small exchange!! :) Im thinking of the Christmas Present exchange the kids absolutly LOVE getting mail!

Flat rate boxes can be your best friend when shipping a larger item.

This looks like a lot of fun. My kiddos would really enjoy this too :)

My kids do LOVE it. I alternate which kid gets to participate in each particular exchange- that way the totals spent doesn't get out of hand. We are on a budget, so I try to keep it to a few exchanges here and there, but they are really fun!

Without a doubt. If your local post office doesn't have boxes, you can go online to order some. and then pay for the postage online as well--you get delivery confirmation for free when you do. and if you don't live nearby a post office, you can schedule a pickup of your package when you pay for the postage online as well.
