Could someone explain how EPCOTs Agent P works?

I think the 9 yr old will like Kidcot but not the 11 and 13 yr olds. I want them to do Agent P but I don't quite get how it works. Ideally we'd like to visit the countries in order so we are not running all over the WS. Does the Agent P game go in country order? Can I program it to start in Canada? Are all the countries represented? How long does each "mission" last? Can the older kids do Agent P while the youngest is decorating her mask (do they even still do that?)? We are only planning to do half the countries in the am. Once we get up to USA can we take that boat back to FW?
Thank you!

The Agent P missions are in one country. There are 4-5 of them, but each one is entirely housed in one country. You pick up a P.H.O.N.E. from the kiosk and select a country. Some countries may not be available if there are too many agents already in that country. After you finish your mission in one country, you are given the option to complete a second mission in a different country. Hope that helps!

They no longer use the phones. Instead you use your own phone. Go to the kiosk and they will set you up.

I can't remember all of the countries, but I know they have it in Germany, France and China.

The game gives you a clue and you have to find something within the country and answer a question about it and then it gives you another clue. Sometimes clues or answers make something move or light up or Perry might pop-up out of things. It is fun. Each mission takes about 20 minutes. From the Disney site, here are the countries you can try:
  • China
  • France
  • Germany
  • Italy
  • Japan
  • Mexico
  • United Kingdom

I just watched a Youtube where some people did it on their phone and I could see a website (agentpwsa.com). The times show 11:00am - 5:00pm. If you can do it on your phone is it still available after 5pm? We like to do WS at night while we wait for Illuminations. What if we started it in the morning, went back to our hotel for swimming, showers and then came back in the evening. Could we continue the game?

They upgraded the old flip phones to Windows phones, but they can still lend you one. We preferred using theirs so our son would not handle our iPhone and to preserve our battery life. When you are done, they point you to a drop box to turn it in.

The showtimes are 11 - 5.
If you come back after 5 you cannot continue

Oh wow! I thought it sounded great that you could just do it on your own phone now but as @Marc D mentioned I would be concerned about the battery life since I always have problems with my batter at WDW even when I do everything you are supposed to do to help maintain battery life.

Can anyone who has done this on their own phone comment on how it affected your battery?

I didn't know they still offered the phones. They weren't offered to us when we did it. Good to know. Thanks!

they can still provide a phone if you do not have your own.

They will not offer you a phone, and in our experience they grumbled a bit and tried to get us to use our own phone, but then gave us one of theirs. They guy actually told us- it won't really drain your battery that much- it is web based.:lmao: I can barely make it though the day with MDE and FP+. No way I was handing over my phone to DD for her to be on it constantly doing Agent P missions.

The phones provided by Disney are becoming fewer and fewer. The whole attraction is now being run by a skeleton crew and is down to only 1 sign up kiosk. So if you have any issues you now have to go all the way back to the entrance from future world you can't just stop at a cart inside. The big rumor is that they will develop an app and make it just connect to the server where you can do it all yourself. That or they'll get rid of the whole thing.

On the battery usage - just get a power bank. I get cheap ones from Walmart and amazon, get the laptop rated ones for 4000mAh or so. You can bring along your charger cord and charge on the go. They are smaller than a phone and awesome for the parks.

We just played multiple days in January and they were more than happy to give us a phone. I didn't get grumbled at. There is no way I want my clumsy boy holding my phone when he could have one of theirs instead.

The Great Britain mission is my favorite!!!

Also know that the Japan mission is a bit short at the moment because of the renovations inside Mitsukoshi. And the explosion in the moat doesn't work properly. I would skip it. We did Germany last Sunday and it was almost as fun as the U.K. mission.
