Could somebody explain what I get with concierge service?

Hello all,
I'm taking my 2 boys to Disney the first week of November. My work has provided 3 nights off-site(my wife passed away early July), I'm going to add 5 nights on-site. I haven't quite picked the resort, although Wilderness lodge and Animal Kingdom Lodge are in the lead, and I was wondering if I should add concierge service. What benefits would we receive from this service, is it worth it?

I am so sorry about the loss of your wife. Please accept my prayers and condolences.

I think that concierge would be lovely for you and your family if it works with your budget. You will receive pre-planning assistance (the concierge can make priority seatings and other reservations for you), turn down service with chocolates, private check-in at some resorts, and of course use of the concierge lounge. They have food offerings during the day and evening. They are not enough for a meal except for breakfast, but they certainly are great for a snack or dessert. I have stayed concierge 3 times, and it has been a real treat each time. You just feel more pampered, in my opinion. The AKL concierge also has the option of going on the Sunrise Safari, which I hear is fantastic. Do a search on the boards to find out all about it. Hope that helps!

I think the Disney trip will be a wonderful way to help you all heal. Your boys will see that life does go on.

If you can afford conceirge I would do it. I would recommend AKL we loved our stay last Feb. The lounge is wonderful and the conceirge staff is excellent. If your buget allows go on the Sunrise Safari. It it so beautiful and you get so close to the animals. If your kids are animal lovers they will love the Safari. The breakfast afterwards is wonderful.

I would agree with the previous posters that you should go for concierge!! We just got home today from they Yacht concierge and I can not say enough!!!!!!!

I hope your upcoming trip brings you some joy at this rough time.

I would also recommend staying concierge somewhere. It is very nice to have the extra help with making PS's or planning special things or just getting information.

The food offerings are great to have when little kids may not want to get up and grab a big breakfast every day. Most of the concierge levels offer nice snacks in the afternoon and a nice appetizer selection in the evenings.

We stayed at WL Concierge last year and our children loved it. They had pb&j roundwiches for the kids, fruit, veggies, gummy worms, pretzels, etc. We could always grab a soda or lemonade when we needed it.

I would really consider WL Concierge if you are going to be spending a lot of time at MK. It's very convenient to get to from WL. The theming at WL is amazing. AKL is great, too. I guess you can't go wrong with either one.

AKL Conceirge is wonderful and I am sure you would have a good time. All the animals that can be viewed from your room are nice. I guess it all depends on if you want to be close to MK or not. If you all have a favorite park or something maybe you could stay in a resort that is close to that particular part.

Have you checked the availability with AP rates. I was offered AKL Concierge for $200 off a night of what it normaly costs.

What do you get with concierge?

Help arranging PS's, cruises, activities, special occasions, etc.

Food offerings include a breakfast selection, snacks in the afternoon, tea, wine/cheese/appetizers in the evening, desserts and cordials in the evening.

The concierge levels are usually great about the kids offerings-pb and j's, chicken nuggets, cheese, kid friendly snacks, juice boxes, cookies, etc.
