We have a fly, snooze and cruise hotel booked. So will get off the plane, find the car service, be taken to Cocoa Beach hotel. Then next day take car service to port. On the way back take car service to airport. This is all booked. But, I am staying a couple of days at WDW. Could I take at Disney bus to my resort ASMu, instead of going to the airport and getting on magical express? That could save me a couple of hours.

Can you have your car service take you to ASMu instead of the airport? The Disney bus from the ship to the WDW hotels is $35 per person.

DCL transfers run from MCO to port, WDW resorts to port, port to MCO, and port to WDW resorts. Each leg is $35.00 per person.

You certainly may take a DCL transfer from port to resort. And then take the Magical Express (free) from resort to MCO.

You can take DCL transfers from the port to ASMu - it will be 35.00 per person.

There will be 11 other people in our party. I am the only one staying, so I didnt think he would want to do that.

Probably not, as the airport is closer to the port than WDW is.

Is everyone going to the airport directly after the cruise? And you, alone, are going to WDW? In that case, I'd suggest you use DCL transfers from port to resort. And, then, as I noted, the Magical Express is free from resort to airport when your visit is done (if that's where you're going).

Yes, everyone else is going to the airport. I just thought I could save some time going straight to my resort. Who do I call?

You can call DCL directly unless you booked with a TA, you can also add ground transfers online but I don't know if it's possible to do that for just you so you'll probably have to call.

If you are ready to book DCL transfers now (yes, you can do it for just one person in your party) call DCL or your travel agent. If you aren't ready, you can book them up until the time you are on the ship. If you do it there, go to Guest Services and they'll book it and add the fee to your onboard account. (Don't know if they still do this, they give you a sticker for your KTTW card to show you are taking DCL transfers)

Yiu could always call the service and ask what sort of fee it might add on.

Otherwise yes just call dcl or the TA. It just arrange it once onboard.

I'm imagining how irritated the party we often travel with would be to end up saying goodbye as we leave the ship, vs saying goodbye at the airport. They don't love change, especially if it feels complicated. I don't love change either but if given the time to deal
I'm ok.

So make sure you communicate the change and make sure there's time for the goodbyes if you think any of that might be an issue. :)

Either you, or your TA if you used one, calls DCL to add the ground transfers. Ground transfers can be added at the time of the initial reservation, after that you call to add them. OR you can wait until you are onboard to add them. I believe it must be done by a couple of days before the end of the cruise.

Saying goodbye will not be a problem. It's my daughter and we see the family just about everyday.

Or if for some reason it would "irritate" your travel party to say goodbye at the ship, you could always ride to the airport in the car service and then take DME to your WDW hotel. I think it'd be easier to just take Disney transport from the port to the resort :-)

DH and I will be taking a car service (from the Oasis) to the airport, spend the day in a day room at the at the Hyatt, then put DH on a plane for 7p.m.:love2:, after which I will then grab Magical Express to take myself to WDW. Its a lot however I WILL BE GOING TO WDW!! WooHoo!!
My biggest fear is that DH will board the wrong plane and end up in Dubai......or is that a plus?? :-)

I think that was the idea they didn't want to do because it would add an hour or so to the travel. :)

I'm just glad that the OP's family isn't like my extended family.

This is what I had planned on doing, but I figured for the same price I could go straight to WDW, and save time and walking, it would be a better option. After I did all the switching, it came out about the same price. I only have 2 days a WDW, so really did not want to waste time.

A few of them may be irritated, not because of saying goodbye, but because they are not going to WDW with me!

Make no mistake, if it were not for the fact DH would be alone in the airport for the entire day I would head right to WDW as well, no question. I will be there for 10 days so I'm in no rush. DH has never traveled alone and tends to day dream a lot so its better if I'm with him till he has to go through security. After that, I wish him well :) . I'll be to busy to worry about what's happening with him.
Have a great trip and enjoy your days at WDW.
