Hi all I have another question hope you all do not get sick of me from now till my cruise:) I called Costco today because after reading about them here decided what could it hurt. I already have a deposit on a cruise for april 14 2005 but they gave me a quote on a may 5 2005 that was 260.00 dollars cheaper. I know this sounds silly but I am afraid to cancel my previous booking and go with costco. What if I get one of the noisy cabins or something? I am in a cat 9 on deck 2 as of now. What do you think SAve money and go with Costco or stick with what I have for fear of not getting a good room. I am making any sense? Anyone had any bad experiences with Costco or are they as good as I have read? Thanks

I've used Costco in the past and not had any problems with them. They should be able to book you a specific room if it is available for that cruise. I don't think that they get a block of noisy rooms for a reduced price. I believe that they just share a bit of their commission with you in order to get your bookings. This far out, it's likely that you could get the same room that you currently have booked, or something close to it. Unless you're booking a category guarantee, you should be able to call them with the deck plan in front of you and choose the room you want.

Don't you just transfer the reservation to Costco? I originally booked my next cruise with DCL and then called Costco to transfer the reservation to them. I would think that you could get the exact same cabin. Also, some of the cabins on the noisy list are not noisy. I booked one of my other DCL cruises through Costco and was quite satisfied with them.

Is your reservation through DCL? If so, then they can transfer the exact reservation to costco. We did this last month and everything stayed the same, including my two connecting SPR'S! :p Now if you have a reservation with another travel agency then you can't transfer the exact rooms. Professional courtesy, I suppose.

We are just off of the 10/16 Magic and we booked through Costco. We had a Category 9 room on Deck 2 (2548), outside large porthole with a split bath and we were pleased with Costco and our room. They gave us a specific room number when we booked and even discussed the pros and cons of some of the rooms available.

Don't cancel your existing reservation. Call Costco and tell them you want to transfer it to them. I've done that for our two cruises coming up. I saved $422 on the August Repo cruise and $266 (that was on top of the 10% onboard rebooking discount and the $200 ship credit) on our Oct. 2006 one. It's totally worth it to transfer or book through them.

I totally agree with Piglet33...If you transfer your ressie to Costco they will take 10% off the price you booked at just for giving them the ressie. It is 10% for an outside cabin and 5% for an inside cabin. Of course before you switch it to them get the price.
