Has anyone had success cancelling the Disneyworld package with Costco? We are booked for November 2020 and we are kind of reluctant to go this year with this whole new park reservation process. I called Disney directly and they said that there should be no problem with cancelling, but Costco travel seems to be giving me the run around. We booked in January, so it is past the refund period, but according to Disney they said they have lifted all the cancellation fees from their third party sellers.

You absolutely should be able to cancel, but yes Costco must be the one to initiate that. And unless Costco has a cancellation fee, you are well within the refund period for Disney. Normal terms have packages due 30 days prior to arrival, and since the closures they have relaxed that to (I think) 7 days prior.

We almost booked with costco, my DH said book direct.. i keep reading post like this. I am going to follow this and see how this goes.

We booked our April 2020 trip with Costco and had no issues cancelling, they refunded everything except for our flights which is a credit that we have to use by booking through them (when I asked the CSR why they said it was part of the terms Delta and Costco agreed to for corporate travel rates, so, makes sense) but the expiration date for that credit is in line w/ Delta's policy so we have through 2022 to use it.

The argument I am getting from Costco is that the COVID cancellation cut off was October 31. Since our trip is in November, it passes the cutoff. Costco has been great for our past vacations, and there are many perks of booking with them, but this time around its going to be a problem. I am hoping to speak to a supervisor next week to see if something can be done, since the standard agents I am talking to have no answers. The uncertainty of this park reservation system makes me real nervous.

If I've learned anything with all of this, it is to never use a TA or any 3rd party agent- including DVC rentals. There's no incentive or discount worth the hassle of dealing with 3rd parties. I'm sure there are reputable ones out there, but until you use them yourself, you don't know and I'm not risking it.
