Hi there, I've been watching the Costco travel site for a few weeks now as the old deal expired 9/28 and so today now they have a new deal. It's very similar to the packages available through the main Disney site, but includes the (Costco) standard one per person premium character dining, and a $20 gift card. I ran a couple of different scenarios and got the EXACT same pricing as the main Disney site (with the 30% off for lodging) but obviously the Costco version has a few extra perks.

Just figured I'd post in case anyone else had been watching for this... the character dining vouchers for our family would be valued at $140ish, plus the $20 gift card, so it's not anything super fantastic, but it's still kind of cool.

I booked this a few weeks ago. It's funny because it didn't show up as an option, but when I plugged in my dates in the old special, the new prices came up. The day I booked was the day the Disney Rewards offer first came out for card holders. I don't have a Rewards card but had been checking the AAA and Costco sites daily. Costco suddenly had this deal, listed as the "1/2 Marathon" offer. I posted about it and it disappeared within a day! However, when the Disney Rewards offer was subsequently opened to the public under the Fall Offer title on disneyland.com, the costco one reappeared as well, but the 1/2 marathon name was replaced with Fall Offer. Crazy, huh?!

I think it's a good bargain. As you said, it's the exact price you can get through disneyland.com but you get the extra perks of character meal vouchers, gift card, and priority seating/pin & lanyard type stuff. For my family of 5 with oldest child being 11, the vouchers alone are worth $177! And here's something cool I read on DISboards which was verified when my package goodies arrived: you don't have to use your character meal vouchers for a character meal! It says, and I quote: "Voucher may be applied up to its retail price of [$39 adult, $20 child] at any full-service or counter-service restaurant. Voucher not valid for world of color dinner packages at Ariel's Grotto or Wine Country Trattoria." I just wish Blue Bayou was going to be open during our trip and I'd use it there! BTW, no change is given if you do not use the full value of the voucher and you can't use it for alcoholic beverages.

So I figure that saving $200 is a really good thing, plus they added in my ToT party tickets for me so I have it all in hand and ready to go. There was no price break on those but it was convenient to include them and receive the tickets in my package.

That's great. I booked an adults only trip in December, and haven't received the stuff from Costco yet, but I was thinking about which Character meal to go to.

But, now maybe I'll use the voucher at Napa Rose instead! :cool1:

The reason the price is the same is that it's ultimately booked through Disney Travel Co. You just get the Costco perks. Your packages come from Disney and arrive 3 weeks prior to your trip.

Costco is a great deal and yes it does ultimately go through WDT. So if you have to call and make changes, you have to go through the Customer Service desk, option 2. A regular travel CM cannot pull up your reservation. Just an FYI to save you time sitting on the phone if you need to call in for something. The number is 1-800-922-9312, opt 2.
