The one portrayed by members of this board, going back to posts in November praising Costco for not being open on Thanksgiving.
It is also the business model described in the CNBC closeup on Costco.
And it is also noted by publications like the Huffington Post.

Yes, Costco is a retail company. But Costco is known for doing retail a little differently. And they have a pretty strong reputation for treating their employees well. THOSE were the things that were in my mind when I asked "Is Costco even open......the day after Christmas". Based on the fact that they resisted being open at all on Thanksgiving....which was a HUGE retail sales day, their thinking outside the box retail business plan in general, and their employee friendly policies....it just seemed possible they might be closed today.
I completely understand what you were asking and why, what I don't understand is why this thread has turned into 6 pages of people bashing on your question.
My boyfriend's company was closed today, they aren't a major retailer but they are a nationwide company, they chose to work on Christmas Eve and be closed today, we really enjoyed it.
My company is closed until JANUARY 5th, not a nationwide company but we are in a few different states and I'm being paid to be home until the 5th. (not retail)
Different companies have different rules, questioning Costco being open isn't a terrible question, nor were tvguys replies in response as to why he would question that. Sometimes the replies to Disboard threads make me go

OP our Costco had no special deals today. Nor did Sam's Club.
