Has anyone used this being Canadian?
Costco has some great rates out there for car rentals, the guy on the other end of the phone said there's no restrictions, you just need a membership card.
Doesn't matter Canadian or American.

We used them in February. Awesome service and great price! The pick up/drop off location was right beside the Disneyland Hotel in DTD. I would book again through Costco.

We booked using Costco travel for a trip we took (not Disney) in June. We had no problems at all. I didn't even have to show my card at the counter (although I did have it with me in case)

We used this over March break this year with no hassles. We were asked to show our membership card, though, so best to take it along just in case!

Do you book through the Costco.ca site or the Costco.com site?
I get different offers depending on which one I look at.

Thanks

I don't see this on the .ca site?
I did my research on the .com site

Using the Costco.ca website...
At the bottom of the home page under Costco Membership choose Costco Services. A new page will open. Choose Costco Services on the left side of the screen. A new page will open, choose Car Rentals. The quote I got from Costco.ca for my dates was better than at Costco.com from the same rental agency.

I just found it thanks. The price for my dates is $600 higher on the .ca!

I've done my last 10 or so car rentals through the costcotravel.com website.

I always carry my costco card in case anyone asks at the rental desk, but no one ever has, even knowing that my home address is in Canada. Most of the agencies are so busy that they want to get you in and out as quickly as possible and could care less about the details - they'll just go from what's in the computer.

Very much like that the website runs through all of the corporate codes and available coupons for all of the agencies and then gives you a comparison chart of what the rates are.

My daughter and I must have hit the Budget desk at MCO on a slow day in July 2011. I had found a code and booked a Mustang Convertible for the week at an amazing price. The woman behind the counter told me that there was no way a Canadian could get that deal. She tried very hard to stop us from renting the car. I had even prepaid. She tried to up sell us. We stood our ground which was for about 45 minutes of her staring at her computer screen and shaking her head. She eventually told us that we could go to the garage but that there weren't any Mustangs available. Luckily, when we went to the garage we met with a much, much nicer Budget employee who directed us to a row of Mustang convertibles and told us to take our pick. Since then I am a little leery when using codes that I can't verify that I am eligible to use.

I called and spoke to someone directly that there was no restrictions on Canadian or American and all that was required was a valid Costco membership. I was even honest and told him I was Canadian. He said no problem.

We used Costco.com last year when we went to DLR. I liked that you could take the code off the Costco site and go to the car rental company site and book there so that you did not have to pay in full up front.
Also, it looks like on the .ca site, you have to choose Budget or Avis just to take a look at prices. The .com site does a comparison chart of all car types and all the companies. Easy to compare and make a choice.

:( sadly you prob just got a miserable agent. I always book with the Costco .com site and never encountered a problem. Sometimes we've gotten agents who try to up sell us, from a compact to a mud size, but we stand our ground, and turns out there aren't any compacts left, so ended up with a mid size anyway!!! Which is usually the case! One agent tried to scare me into buying the insurance, and again I stood my ground. I have car rental insurance thru my ICBC car insurance at home, it's an extra policy I added on.

I like the US site because they have Alamo, and I can return it on site either to the CCC near Poly, or at the Dolphin. We fly into Ft lauderdale first to visit family before driving up to WDW. I return our car after we check into our resort.

Until last year, I always booked through Costco.com and had no issues at all. Before our trip last year someone had written about having difficulty with the rates because they were Canadian. I read the .com site and it states that you must be a resident of the US.

"Costco Travel sells exclusively to Costco members who reside in the United States. We use our buying authority to negotiate the best value in the marketplace, and then pass on the savings to Costco members."

Although I had never encountered a problem, I felt a bit uneasy so I booked through Costco.ca. I booked through .ca for this year as well. I have found that the past two years the prices are sooooo much higher than in previous years...both US and Canada. I booked early and keep checking until the day we leave!

When I called I didn't book through Costco travel. It went right to the car rental company and you gave them your membership #. He said the offer is open for all Costco members. This was both enterprise and Alamo that I called ..

I took the costco.com discount code and went to the car rental company's website and entered it there (where you are asked home country) and had no issues.

When you find a deal you like, I think you click on the terms and a box will pop up stating the terms and the discount code is in there. Take ghat code and book on the car rental company's site.
