Costco AP Tickets

Maybe I'm missing something here, but can someone explain to me why they'd sell the AP's only in Southern CA when we can get the special So. CA passes for so much less already? I'd think they'd be more helpful to those who don't live here and can't?

Am I missing something??

I'm not sure but maybe they're trying to lure So. Cal people into buying more expensive passes. I admit, it worked on us. :rolleyes1 We were going to get one of the So. Cal passes but when you subtract the amount of the $50 gift card is is only about $40 more and you get more days in the park. People who don't live in this area probably mostly buy the deluxe AP anyway since that is the cheaper of the 2 options for non So Cal residents.

With the $50 gift card incentive, it encourages locals to spring for a deluxe as opposed to the So-Cal passes. Locals make up the majority of passholders anyways, so more days equals more money spent on food and souvenirs, so it makes perfect sense to me.

Thanks for clarifying. I guess I'm looking at the $134 So Cal pass, thinking I'd almost never want to go on a weekend or during high seasons (Fridays are not blacked out, so that's good enough for me to get in on Fireworks, parades, Fantasmic, etc., even during off-season.) And since it's only $40 to get a ticket on a blackout date, if I ever really wanted to go, it's still less than a Deluxe pass.

So for those of you who still go for the extra costs, what makes it worth it for you? I haven't bought ours yet, these will be our first, so I don't want to buy the wrong passes and regret it.

Thanks!

We thought it would be worth the extra $ to get the Deluxe because we didn't want to be blocked out on Saturdays. Yes, I agree that it isn't the best day to go but we want to make sure we can go enough times to make it worth having a pass in the first place and my husband can't always take off work to go in the middle of the week. And although we are "local", we are an hour away so we aren't close enough to just hop on over after work. Plus that would be hard on our DS to be up that late. The Southern California pass lets you go on Sundays so we were originally going to get that one but for only $40 more we thought it was worth it to get the deluxe at Costco. So for the price to get in for a blockout day, we can get in for a bunch of blockout days. We just didn't want to feel like we weren't "allowed" to go to DL if we wanted to go so less blockout days were better for us. However, we weren't willing to go for the Premium pass and we only got the Deluxe because of the gift card deal at Costco.

I'm down in La Mirada this weekend (I live in San Jose) and went to the La Habra Costco yesterday. They had full display cases of the passes, back by the books/cds. On the back of the red card thing, it says something about only being able to buy 8 of the passes at one time. Dh took that to mean each red card could buy up to 8 passes at once. Anyone else notice that? We ended up taking 2 of the red cards to the register but only bought 2 passes.

My friend lives in Fontana and checked the Costco there yesterday. They also had plenty available.

Does anyone know how the supply on these are??? How long are they offering this deal?

I too went to costco (yesterday) and they had about 3 pallets full of vouchers :goodvibes I didn't pick one up just yet because there were tons.

If you want to call your local Costco to see if they are carrying this voucher, the Item # is 295609.

Picked ours up at the Rancho Cucamonga store last Thursday and they had a ton. Also we had no problems using them and upgrading to Premium passes. :thumbsup2

Would there be anyone from CA willing to buy these for us?? Do like an ebay auction and we can pay through paypal and give an extrea $30 or so for your time???

Has anyone bought these passes at a Costco near DL lately? I'll be driving over from Vegas on the 19th and would like to pick them up on the way to DL or at a Costco near by.

Hey there,

My sister lives in Torrance. She has been a pass holder for about 10 years.
I asked her to buy three for me.
 Now our mom wants to join in the fun.

I called Costco in Torrance this morning,
(Tue. Nov. 11)
item# 295609 is in stock.

My gift card might as well say Blue Bayou on it,
that's where it's going to be spent :rolleyes1

does anyone know how the supply is for these? We are planning on going to a Costco on the way from SNA to our hotel December 4th and getting our AP. Is there still alot left?

There are TONS left! You just grab one of the red cardboard pieces and bring it up and tell them how many you need, then they ring it and go grab your voucher. You do not need more than one red board. At least that is what he gathered from it...others can correct me. I really wouldn't worry :) Times are hard for most people right now and only those of us who cannot stay away from DL seem to be taking advantage of this great deal.

Has anyone seen these in the Northern CA Costco's yet?
