I know this sounds lazy but with 4 kids I wonder if I will want to do any of it , or will I say heck let someone else do it for me!

Anyone know what they charge for washing shirts and pants some socks( I will bring enough underwear to not wash it there) that creeps me out some stranger washing my underwear.

thanks

I know they charge per piece, but I am not sure the exact prices. I believe it was $4.00 for a pair of socks, $8.00 for a single pair of shorts, something along those lines.

Wow ... with four kids it's gonna cost the OP about a thousand dollars to get the laundry done!

I consider doing laundry Mommy's Time Out.

Believe me, having your spouse watch the kiddos at the pool or in your room, while you get some quiet time reading a book or magazine and doing the laundry will feel like heaven :cloud9:

I did my laundry a couple of times on the last few trips. I took a quiet time in the early morning or late evening one day.. and it didn't take any time at all.

I could NOT justify the prices for the service they provide.

My name is Knox not Rockefeller. :)

I totally agree with this. Quiet time without the kids is a wonderful thing even if you are doing laundry.:thumbsup2

I've got to agree with this too. I don't mind doing laundry at Disney.

Another option would be to UPS or Fed Ex a few extra clothes to yourself at the resort. I do this too.

Just in case you don't know it it $2 per wash and $2 per dryer at Disney.

This probably sounds a little crazy, but my hubby (bless his kind soul) does the laundry on vacation. I take the kids to the pool and HE heads for the laundry! He was a policeman when we married and thought the laundry room at the apts. was not safe, so he always washed and dried the clothes. I would fold and put away! 27 years and 3 kids have passed, but the routine is still the same! Yes we own a home now, but we just never lost the routine! Melissa:thumbsup2

For get it I am not that lazy to pay those prices for each item. That is one way of making me get into the laundry mate. I can wash a entire load for the price of a pair of socks and that includes drying it.

Thats one way to not get much business with laundry service.

When we stay in studios, I leave DH in the room with the kids, take a book, and get myself a frosty beverage. Then I go do laundry.

Heaven! :goodvibes

I actually enjoy doing laundry while we're at WDW. I take a book and get a drink while the laundry is washing. For an 8 day trip, I usually only take enough clothes for about 5 days. Plus, I don't have to deal with 8 days worth of dirty laundry when I get home.

I had the same thought going on one trip. I changed my mind when I realized that for what it would cost to send out the nightgown and panties I was wearing as I looked at the laundry card, I could wash and dry two loads. :rotfl2: For me it depends on the resort and time of year. At the GF, it was great. I put the laundry in the machines in our building then sat on the balcony reading a book while DH took the kids exploring. At the BC in February, it was freezing cold but the time it took to get from our room to the laundry room at the pool house, the wash would be done and I'd just have time to walk to the room and back again...same with one dry cycle. It was too cold to sit outside so I had to sit in the humid little laundry room...not so much fun. Not enough of an inconvenience to make me send the stuff out, but not fun.

I will still likely do laundry on our upcoming trip. December is that "maybe it's cold, maybe it's warm" weather where I end up packing a little bit of everything which necessitates a laundry day if we want to avoid bringing 5 huge suitcases!

That's just the price of laundry in hotels. I've used the services a couple of times for a special piece of clothing that I need cleaned and pressed. I paid $12 (including tip) for a shirt to be pressed in Vegas - Yikes!! But I hate ironing and this was a particularly difficult piece to iron, so it was worth it to me
