i can't believe it, we have to pay for parking at the resorts... :(

anyway, i just found this out, and we might have a car for the 1 night we're at PBH, but if the parking is a lot, that might make us just opt for a towncar instead. :(

anyway, how much is the self-parking, or whatever the cheapest parking option is?

once you pay for parking at PBH, do you get free parking if you want to drive to the parks (forgive my ignorance, would you even want to drive to the parks from PBH? or is the Universal transportation sufficient?)

also, are there any parking discounts?
we have an Entertainment Card, and a Fan Pass.

TIA, everyone.

Or, you can walk to the parks from PBH - it's a lovely 10-15 minute walk. No need to drive to the parks from any of the resorts on-site at Universal. That's the beauty of it - not to mention FOTL!!!

Have fun!

If you have a Premium Annual Pass, they take off the parking cost. Regardless, I really dislike the fact that they charge for parking for their resort guests. Does Disney do this as well?

Are you sure they don't charge you for parking at the hotels if you have a premium annual pass? That's the first I've heard of this. I know they don't charge you at the parks with a pass.

The girl at the front desk made a copy of my Entertainment Card and my Annual Pass and said that I wouldn't be charged for the parking (I didn't even ask, I just handed her my AP when she asked for a photo ID). Of course, I haven't received my final bill yet, so it may turn out that she was full of it.

I was surprised to hear this too ...

HOWEVER, I stayed at the RPR in early May on an Annual Pass rate, and when I checked in I was told self-parking was $6/night, but I was never charged ... which would make sense since if this is true since I obviously had a Preferred Annual Pass since I was staying on an Annual Pass rate ...

I just spoke to a gentleman at the UO Annual Pass Hotline (1-800-564-5764) and was told that there is NO free parking at the on-site hotels for annual pass holders ... This is getting interesting ..

We stayed at PBH four nights last year over Labor Day and we were not charged for self-parking. It never appeared on the bill and I was, obviously, fine with that!!

My bill just hit my account...

I was charged for nothing more than the room (which is good, because I did threaten severe bodily harm to anyone who even THOUGHT about touching the minibar!).

No additonal charges for parking whatsoever.

Maybe this is one of situations where it depends on who checks you in? Kinda like how the Universal Fan Club card is SOMETIMES good at the Enchanted Oak, and sometimes they won't accept it?

I was just there.. where was the mini bar... i never saw it.. i saw a cabnet with a key hole but never saw a key...amy

Yeah, the minibar was the magical thing inside that cabinet with the key (in our room, it was part of the armorie that had the TV in it). We got a key when we checked in.

Believe me, you weren't missing much. I was surprised by how much more "family" stuff there was than "minibar" stuff. Five pairs of minibottles, a few cans of Heiniken (blah), and a little tiny water bottle.

Considering they were charging seven bucks for that liter bottle of Evian on the table, there was no way I was going to pull a single thing out. I assumed with a minibar, there would be a genuine refrigerator that we could put a few things in. No luck. That fridge was pathetically small.

And does anyone actually drink that seven dollar of Evian? Wow, seven bucks (plus tax AND gratuity!) to drink a room temperature bottle of water? Huh? Ironically, we had stopped at the Walgreens on Kirkman and picked up four of the "Nomad" bottles of Evian (the ones with the cool belt strap thing) to use in the parks. Those four bottles cost less than seven bucks. I know they can jack the prices up because you're probably not going to get up and leave to get a water, but that is just crazy right there.

Is there a charge to self park at RPH and HRH? I am also wondering if PBH has a club level with breakfest? Thanks

ALL of the Universal on-property hotels (HRH, RPR & PBH) quote a daily fee for parking- both valet ($10) and self-park ($6).

However, it's a toss-up as to whether or not you'll get charged for parking. We stayed at the HRH in December and were charged for parking. We were at PBH at the end of May and didn't get charged for parking.

We'll be back at the HRH in December again... we'll see how the parking lottery goes. :smooth:
