cost of points..

Can I ask a financial question. What is the current cost for points (assume you buy the 150 minimum) direct for Disney. Also how much are they on the secondary market. Lastly does anyone know how much the cost of these points (direct from Disney) has gone up over the last several years (ie what would they have bee in 95 or 97 or 2001).

I have to admit this whole thing looks a bit expensive and people seem to have a lot of trouble booking times unless they book near a year in advance (Disney seems to have sold too many points?) So for me this only makes sense if you have a chance of selling them 7 or 8 years for now for near what you paid for them (hence my questions above).

Points are now going for $84.00 each at the BCV but they presently will buy back your first year points for $10.00 per point.

You are correct, it is expensive. But if like me and my family you go to WDW a couple of times per year and spend thousands of dollars anyways at one of the deluxe resorts, then DVC becomes a bargain!

I wouldn't count on be able to sell the points back in a few years. If you can and need to that would be great. But you never know what will happen. If you are like most people, you will be looking to add-on and not sell anyways.
