Cost of parking at Dolphin?

I guess I always thought that parking was free all over Disney (resorts and parks) if you were a guest at a Disney resort (we're staying at the Dolphin). But I think I'm hearing that there is now a parking fee...is that true? And say, for example, we get our car from the Dolphin parking lot (where we just paid our daily parking rate of xxx) and then, say, we drive and park at Typhoon Lagoon - do we have to pay there too? Now renting a car is sounding a lot more expensive of an option than it used to. Could someone help sort this out for me...? Thanks!

There is a one time charge for the day to park at the Dolphin. You do have in and out privledges for the day. No charge for parking at Typhoon Lagoon.

Swan and Dolphin are not owned by Disney.

You may want to verify with S/D their one day parking fee. I read just the opposite. :confused3

We are aware that you will be staying with us and have some questions regarding the parking charge. The parking charge does not actually go into affect until the 14th of March and the price will be $7 a day plus tax for our resort guests. If you are a resort guest your room key will allow you access in and out of our parking area and the one day charge will be applied via the front desk. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us (407) 934-4025.
Have a Magical Day!

Yep, we just stayed at the Swan a couple of weeks ago. And self parking was $7 per day and valet was $14. It is correct that you don't pay to park at Typhoon, but I think you would pay for parking if you went to one of the theme parks.

Theme park parking is free for WDW resort guests, and the S/D are included.

Yes, Swan and Dolphin recently started charging $7 a day for self-parking, as safetymom quoted above. But no, you won;t have to pay to park at the theme parks if you are a Guest at Swan or Dolphin.

Why is it different than the other on-site hotels? Because Swan and Dolphin are not Disney resorts; they are owned by Sheraton/Starwood. This has good points and bad points, the bad points being the $7 parking fee and no room charging. The good points are that even with the $7 parking fee and the mandatory $10 resort fee, Swan and Dolphin are still the cheapest deluxe-grade hotels on site, with the occasional exception of AP rates at AKL or WL.

So I'm guessing that, since they're not technically a Disney resort, then having an AP still wouldn't allow you to park there for free?

An AP only allows for free parking at the four theme parks during normal operating hours. No other free parking included. Sorry.
