Seems like we spent about about 80 bucks during our last vacation on just the ice and laundry at the Fort. All in quarters if I recall correctly.

Anyone know what the price for ice and laundry is? Are the machines still all quarters?

$2.00 for a bag of ice. We never do laundry on vacation.

$2.00 for the washer, $2.00 for the dryer, $1.00 each for mini boxes of laundry supplies (bring your own!!!)

I knew the all-knowing Dissers here would know! Thanks :thumbsup2

Do we still need quarters or have the updates included paper money operations?

Still needs quarters. There are change machines in each laundry room, but not sure how full they stay. Every Disney trip always involves buying 4 rolls of quarters before leaving for us.

The change machine at the meadows pool ran out one morning, (early like 7am), and I drove over to a comfort station to get some more. I bumped into a CM, and they were so nice. By the time I was loading the laundry into the washer, a CM walked in filling the change/money thing, and said they had just go a call it was out. So, if it is out of money, don't hesitate to ask/call.

Washer are med/large I'd say, and cost 2 dollars

Dryers are large, (deff not huge), cost 2 dollars, and even in summer humidity, dried heavy beach towels in one cycle.

My advice to novices to use the dryers, if it is something you are fond of, keep it out of the dryer. Those things get really hot. I have lost an article or two by letting hubby do the laundry on the last trip.

My husband is not allowed to do the laundry......only allowed to carry it to wherever it needs to be....LOL

We husbands know how to get out of doing things when we want to...:thumbsup2

We bought an ice maker last year and have only used it once. And it was so hot, the ice melted before a second load froze. Of course that was in Texas, outside, in the middle of a 100 degree heat wave. I'm going to try it again at the Fort this Christmas.

We do a lot of laundry every visit. Those 3 in 1 Purex sheet look promising for convenience. We used them this summer at the Fort and at Dollywood. A lot easier than carrying several boxes and bottles of supplies.:laundy:

LOL that is only what I'm allowed to do when DW does the laundry at FW and I always go back and try and get what might be done or at least check on the progress and make sure she has her cell phone when she needs me to come and carry back the done laundry.

I can appreciate and accept that tho.

Looks like I will be wearing my clothes in the shower and hanging them to dry in the back of the campsite...or go down to the creek and finding a rock to beat my clothing clean and then hanging them on the back of the golf cart and going for a ride.

This is soooo way off topic but I couldn't resist...

When I started high school, my stay at home mom went to college. After 14 years of marriage my father had never learned how to do laundry for himself. When mom went back to school she took one of those little note pads and on three sheets wrote step by step instructions and taped them to the washing machine so my father could figure it out. Those instructions stayed taped there for more than 5 years but he figured it out:thumbsup2

He has since retired and my mother, a nurse, still works. He now does all the laundry, grocery shopping and most of the cooking. But, we still give him a hard time about those hand written instructions!:lmao:
