Can anyone tell me what the cost of lattes and espresso at the Cove Cafe? As I want to budge this in. We are leaving for our first cruise on the Wonder in two days. :cool1:

If I can remember correctly it was somewhere in the area of $4.95 and UP plus 15% gratuity... depending on what you wanted. Similar to bar prices, since basically it is a full serve bar as well. Hope that helps. :) Have a WONDERful time!!

Did they change Common grounds to Cove Cafe? I know that its on the Magic, but did they change it over for the wonder too know and i miss it?!

Yes, the change was made during the dry dock last fall. ESPN is now Aloft (teen club) and Common Grounds is now the Cove Cafe. Also, the dueling piano club was changed to Diversions Pub (just like Magic).

$3.50 for a large latte or cappucino, however, if you buy a coffee/liquor drink, the coffee portion is free and you just pay for the liquor. So, for example, a double shot large latte w/ Godiva chocolate liquor was $4.75 .

I wouldn't recommend the latté. Anyone can do a better job at home. I just stuck with the free regular coffee because the stuff you paid for was no better. I consider Starbucks your average run-of-the-mill coffee house and the ship's coffee wasn't even as good as that.

I disagree. We love going to Cove Café for specialty coffees and did so every night, but then again we love Starbucks coffee so maybe that's why we like it so much.

Piglet33 - I'm so glad to hear you liked it. I love Starbuck's Latte's so I was disappointed when the previous poster said to avoid the latte's. In your opinion, was the lattes as good as Starbucks? Did you see any Splenda on board? I was thinking of bringing my own as I love non-fat latte's with Splenda!!

$3.50 isn't bad for a latte. I pay $3.00 at Starbucks so 50 cents isn't much different for a cruiseship.

Another Starbucks latte lover here! Does anyone know if they have "sugar free" syrups onboard?

I always make myself laugh when I order at Starbucks: "Grande Non-Fat, Sugar-Free, Hazelnut (or Vanilla) Latte with Decaf Coffee, please!" :teeth:

It sounds worse than "Frasier" in Cafe Nervosa! :rotfl2:

Arlene

Bump I also want to know if they have sugar free syrups. I get to frustrated with Starbucks only having vanilla and hazelnut for sugar free flavers. Being a diabetic it really limits my choices.

I didn't even know Starbucks had sugar-free syrups??? This is great to know!!

Maybe I'll try it next time instead of my Splenda

They do have sugar free syrups. We had SF Vanilla Latte several times on the 10 day Christmas Cruise, then sat and played SkipBo and watched the sea go by. awwwwwww. :cloud9:

I think the latté on the ship taste as good as Starbucks. I agree about the cost. I'm lucky because they just put a Starbucks in the cafeteria where I work so I can have my Caramel Machiatta anytime I want, lol. I don't remember if they have Splenda. Sorry can't help you with that one.

You order like I do, Arlene! Caffeine makes me jittery, don't want the calories of whole milk or sugared syrup. A friend of mine asked me what the point of my drinking a coffee drink at starbucks was. I still like how it tastes!

Glad to hear they are not too high on the lattes as I think I'll be spending my onboard $$$ there!

My order's alot like yours: Grande Skinny Hazelnut (but I need my caffeine!)

At least you can have that! Since I am diabetic and allergic to nutrasweet I have to go with non-fat lattes with Splenda. No syrups!

Grande skim chai with no foam please!!! (I only drink tea, not coffee!!). Anyone know if they have sugar free chai syrup???

The cove cafe coffee prices arn't to bad. The coffee is very good. and the couches couldn't be better. I was a Common Grounds kid back when, so I go in there and get an expresso and remember the old times. The cove cafe looks almost the same as Common Grounds did, but it has windows, side and back doors, you can't go in the main door like you could at Common Grounds, and the awsome looking sign out front has been painted over. The bar is the same, the couches and chairs are the same, and the jinga tables are still there. All in all it is still a great place to enjoy a coffee and relax away from the goofy pool. -Alex
