Our family is planning a 10 day stay at Disney next year and was wondering what would be the best price for purchasing tickets for that length of stay. We will be purchasing the motel separately and will not get a package. Should one of us buy a AP or all of us? What would be cheaper? All of us to buy AP's or a 10 day ticket. May only need a 9 day since one day may be spent at a water park or DQ. Thanks for your help!

The price for park only AP is about $403 for an adult right now. I believe the break even point is 7 days. If I remember correctly, the 7 day PHP pass is just about the same as an AP. But you can't get just a plain ph pass for parks only for more than 4 days. I would go to Deb's Unofficial Walt Disney Guide site. She has some great info on comparative pass shopping.

If you are staying 9 days, the ONLY option you have other than the annual pass is to get a 9 day Ultimate Hopper Pass. That includes the parks, water parks, pleasure island, disney quest and wide world of sports complex for your length of stay. Park Hopper plus tickets only go up to 7 days. Regular Park Hoppers only go to 5 days. Are you staying 9 days/8 nights or 10days/9 nights? The prices are close between 9 day hoppers and the annual pass. But, if you are staying on property, you can get hotels at a really discounted rate with an annual pass sometimes!!! Let me know where you are staying and we can try and figure out what you rate with an AP would be. Also, how many days and nights.

Here are the prices-

9day/10 night ultimate hopper pass
adult-advanced purchase- 408.97
adult- at the gate price- 440.92

child- advanced purchase- 328.03
child- at the gate price- 353.60

10day/9night ultimate hopper pass
adult- advanced purchase- 463.66
adult- at the gate price- 475.01

child- advanced purchase- 349.34
child- at the gate price- 380.22

Annual Pass
adult- 403.64
child- 342.93

If you aren't going back within the year, why not try the 10 world pass ($348 per adult), if you aren't returning within the year. It also comes with a free character breakfast coupon. That will come in about $75 under the AP.

If you think you can save with AP discounts for hotels/dining, remember it only takes on AP member per party (which can be a child)

Enjoy

I'm not 100% sure, but I didn't think that a child's AP can be used to book a room for the discount. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

last summer I had already purchased 2 10 day world passes for me and my DD10 but my DD14 was going to be at a student ambassador conference for the first 10 days of our visit(we were there for 15 days) so I did some figuring and with an AP for him(even though he only used it for 4 days) we saved about 500 dollars on our room and the parking at the parks was free! yes you can use a childs annual pass to get a discounted room( they actually never even asked to see it) Mimimom:tongue: :wave2:
