Sorry if there is a thread on this already but I was going over ways in which to finance a direct purchase and the best way I’ve come up with to do it is open one or two 21 month 0% intro APR credit cards if I’m able to and pay off the purchase in 21 installments.

Other than that, there’s obviously DVC financing which I’d rather not do, a personal loan which I’d rather not do. There’s also the ability to use my HELOC which id rather not do.

Just wondering if anyone has any tips on how to best go about it other than straight cash.

Thanks

I think you nailed on the head with your first one if you are really looking to finance it while avoiding interest.

I don't know what cards you are looking at but usually only the premium cards are going to give you a high enough limit to put a contract on.
You had said 1 or 2 but it might take 2 for you and 2 for a SO.

The credit cards I’ve seen is the Wells Fargo Reflect card has 21 months, us bank visa has 18 months. 12 months is definitely doable for me as some cash would open up for me in about a year but I can’t use currently. I already own the chase saphire preferred card and freedom unlimited.

If you need time to pay and can 100% pay it off in 21 months that is the best way to go. Worst case scenario if you cant you can try to open a new credit card that has a 0% balance transfer offer.

The best best scenario is if you can pay off in 12 months there are some cards that also has a sign up bonus and 12 months 0%
Any cards you know of for the sign up bonus and 12 months? Already have chase sapphire preferred card and freedom unlimited.

Oh and Discover IT is 15 months and has cash back match the 1st year as its bonus. (I would double check to be sure DVC takes Discover but likely they do)

Just wanted to let you know that you can get interest free bank deposits from the Chase cards. They charge a one time fee of 5%. Look under Balance Transfers and see which offers you currently have. I have several cards from Chase and could technically take offers from all of them. I just prefer not to, haha. I had better deals from some of my other cards. The downside is that since it's considered a balance transfer, you don't earn any rewards.

They do take Discover. I bought a significant chunk of my VDH on my Discover card.

Yay!!

Hmm I do have a couple rental properties. Don’t have an LLC though
Agree with VGC, do not need LLC. I now use my DVC rental income to list when applying for business card. highly suggest Amex Blue Business Plus or cash , both no fees and easy approval. My wife was approved for one and only had $900 income from her craft selling. Just be honest with your information.

Another BIG plus of using business cards to carry the 0% balance is that the high balance isn't reflected on your personal credit report unless you default on the payments. Most of the big banks (Chase, Amex, Citi, Barclays, etc) are like this. Capital One is trickier and most of it's business cards do report to personal reports.

This is a great resource: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/which-business-credit-cards-report/

So looking at chase ink unlimited it’s a $750 cash back bonus and Amex cash is $250, Amex blue is 15000 points, assuming equivalent to $150. Sounds like chase ink might be the way to go

Amex Blue can be had much higher. Often time you have to find the offer by googling. Love my Chase Inks and you get 3x points on the DVC purchase which is amazing, but Chase tends to give lower limits than Amex so you would need more than 1 card for sure.

Do you have a no fee Pay Over Time available on either of your chase cards? For a while they were offering this to most people if you'd never used it but not sure if they still are.

We did a good chunk using that on both chase cards and got 24 months no interest. The nice thing about that is not having to deal with another card (we still ended up getting a few with some sort of cashback bonus) and being able to move the chase credit limits around between cards.

We also opened a discover IT for the 0% interest, double cashback in the first year, and rotating 5% (comes in handy when warehouse clubs are included to stock up on disney gift cards at BJs).
