I was wondering if there were any fellow cosplayers on here? I searched a bit for a thread, but came up with nothing. So if there is already another thread like this, I apologize.

I myself am new to cosplaying. My first cosplay last year was L (Death Note), and as my first cosplay everything went wrong, so my second cosplay, Ed from FMA, should go better.

So, does anyone cosplay? Go to conventions? Want to talk about how to style wigs, make automail, ect?

I've also heard wonderful, magical stories of people cosplaying in the Disney parks, on halloweeen or anytime. Is this true? Is it allowed? (I don't think I could do it, it would be a lot of work to bring all my costumes down as well as my everyday cloths. Not to mention too hot.) Seeing a gruop of kingdom hearts cosplayers in the magic kingdom would be priceless, if it ever happened.

Um, well I don't do it regularly, but I do have two Team Rocket costumes in my closet from a few Halloweens ago. I was Jessie and my brother was James, but he gave me the costume after outgrowing it. They're fairly amatuerish, but I like 'em.

I'd LOVE to dress up at Disney World for MNSSHP; I've got this awesome Captain Amelia costume from the Halloween before last and it's a darn shame, in my mind, to have this great outfit and nothing to use it for. =(

This might sound stupid, but what is cosplaying?
Just like, role playing?

Not really. You can roleplay while cosplaying if you wish. I think.

Cosplaying is when you dress up as a person from your fovorite anime/manga/television show/movie/book/game/ect. Cosplaying is generaly seen at anime/game/comic conventions (Though some would say cosplaying only refers to anime/manga cons) where many people dress up for competitions or just for fun. But one can also cosplay anywhere, perhaps as a group at the mall (because why put so much work into a costume for just one day a year?).

It's really a thrill when somebody recognises you, and you get fangirled/fanboyed all over (I.E. hugs and asking for pictures). Plus, cosplay costumes can range from very simple costumes put together in a few days, to beautiful eloborite peices that people take months to complete. Anyine can do it.

As for the roleplaying, sometimes. Cospayers will act 'In character' for photos sometimes, and sometimes not. Some cosplay groups will preform skits for a contest. I honestly haven't seen that much roleplaying at anime cons myself, perhaps it's more of a movie/comic con thing. I wouldn't know.

All it comes down to is just plain fun, really.

Captin Amelia? That's awesome! I love treasure planet. Do you have a picture of it? I haven't seen anyone cosplay as someone from TP before.... hmmm, that gives me a brand new costume idea! Thanks. :yay:

i think i had to blink a few times at the title.

Wow, so Disney really does allow cosplay outside of MNSSHP? (I'm assuming within reason). That is just so very, incredibly spectacular. When you do cosplay at disney, what sort of reactions do you get?

Haha, I'm probably going to need a good deal of help, I'm very new to cosplay... and have no experience with wigs. To braid a wig, is it very different from braiding human hair? (I'm planning on getting a good quality wig for my Ed costume, so I'll assume that'll make a difference into how the wig can be styled.)

:worship: That's a very impressive list of costumes.

Horray for being nerds! :woohoo:

disney allows a certain amount of cosplay. give or take they wont let you walk in as naruto. but if you had the jacket and maybe a wig on, what can they really say? "gee...we don't allow bright yellow hair".

i work at epcot and have seen people of every size, shape and color. i have seen outrageous outfits and hair colors. as long as you dont appear to be a threat, nothing can legally be said. just cosplay in moderation. wigs and casual wear is fun and easy.

we have done kingdom hearts and its a blast. :]

depending on the wig, a braid may be easy or not. but adding wefts to a wig is a piece of cake. have you already chosen a wig for ed, or do you still need some ideas? id be happy to take a look for you. im planning an ed sometime myself so this would be good future reference. :]
