Cosmic Rays ordering system?

I just read that Cosmic Rays has a good ordering system that is different than most places. Different lines for different foods? Can anyone elaborate on this for me? Does it mean I might have to line up 3 different times just to order for my family if we all want something different!?

Yes that is exactly what it means. There is some overlap with things appearing in 2 bays, but basically different food per bay

We actually hate their system because we end up having to go so many places. Kind of a PITA.

The food is broken up into three sections called bays that each have their own lines for ordering, payment, and food pickup. Bay 1 is Chicken, Bay 2 is Burgers/Hot Dogs, and Bay 3 is Sandwiches/Soups/Salads. If one person in your party wants chicken nuggets at Bay 1, and someone else wants the chili cheese dog at Bay 2, you will need to wait in line to order and pickup food twice- once at each bay.

There is some slight overlap though with some menu items being at multiple bays. For example, you can get a basic cheeseburger at Bay 2 and Bay 3 (according to the menu I just glanced at). Therefore if someone wants a cheeseburger and someone else wants a salad, you would only have to go to Bay 3 because it has both the salad and the burger despite being billed as the Sandwiches/Soups/Salads bay.

The menu on the Disney website is showing identical menu items at Bay 2 and Bay 3. Anytime I have been to Cosmic Rays this was not the case nor is it the case on any recent menu pictures I just looked at online. Therefore I'd refer more to the Disney Food Blog review here to look at the menu versus the Disney website as it seems like there is a glitch.

Think of it like the food courts in the moderate and value resorts, same principle.

I just read through the link and think I just have one more thing I am unclear on.....my kids want chicken nuggets. Can that be ordered as a kids meal at any bay, or don't have to go to the chicken bay?

I originally thought the chicken bay...but then wasn't sure..?

Not a fan when this place is crazy busy; it was chaos at lunch. We ordered off the same menu to make it easier, but it was so crowded we had difficulty finding a table. Tables and the condiment area were also very messy. We had eaten here on previous trips, and we really enjoyed it, but we were disappointed this time around.
Eat elsewhere if super crowded.

Tough with young kids but okay when everyone is old enough to get their own food.

From the pictures I've seen it looks like the kids meals are the same at each bay and you should be able to order the chicken nuggets at each one!

I hope so! Since my husband and I plan to order the same thing, it would make life much easier!!
