Just taking a chance to see if anyone in DISland has heard of this school and has any experience with it...??? We are looking into alternative schools for ds12, our asperger's kid.
I have no experience with it, but I see it mentioned from time to time on the support board I go to www.nldontheweb.org . (For NLD, which is a condition that is a lot like Aspergers.) You might go there and run a quick search.
I don't know much about that school but I have been working in the field for some time.
I was the Director of Admissions for a private school for children on the Autism Spectrum for many years. It actually has a great separate program for children with Asperger's. I would encourage parents who were looking at the school to contact parents who had children enrolled at each school they looked at. I always had a list of parents that agreed to be contacted.
Have you ever read the book "Quirky Kids" by Dr. Eileen Costello? She and the co-author are local pediatricians. The book is great for parents and I am not just saying that because I am in it!
