I have a heel spur and the treatment is therapy, wrapping my foot and cortisone injections in my foot. Last week, the doctor told me that he'd be as gentle as possible. While it didn't feel good, it was by no means unbearable.
Tonight I go in for my 2nd shot. Different doctor who jabbed the needle into the bottom of my foot. By no means was there any gentliness to the process -- it hurt like the dickens. So, here I am, 2 hours after the fact, limping around and in a lot of pain. My foot feels tingly and really sore. I didn't have this type of a reaction last week.
I wondering whether or not it was the two different doctor's approach to the injection which is causing me all the discomfort. I still have 2 more weeks of these to go and I am definately not looking forward to another injection.
Can anyone shed any light on this? If it was the approach, I certainly don't want to go back to the same doctor I saw tonight. Thanks for any help.

I did get one cortisone shot and it was not too bad. I was so worried about the shot that I put off going to the Dr. for about 9 months and suffered with extreme pain.
The Dr. gave me some special orthotics to wear in my other shoes. I even used them in my water shoes when I took a shower. I literally did not step barefoot for over 6 months.
