Happy Saturday! What was going to be mine and my husband's anticipated F&W vacation in late Oct is now pushed to holiday visit Christmas week due to my husband's new job at Toyota. A nice blessing to be sure, but now I feel bummed about missing F&W after waiting 2 years.

We've done POR several times (a favorite when we were a family of five) and Caribbean Beach, but never Coronado. Can someone who has recently been to both POR and CSR - like last 2 or 3 years - give me some feedback on their CSR experiences as compared to POR? The current differences in rates is not very much, so I wouldn't mind trying something new.

TIA!

I stayed at the Grand Destino Tower when everything re-opened. This is a beautiful new addition but would not stay at the other locations surrounding Coronado Springs although the new 3 Bridges and Bar & Grill make it very appealing. Also has a rooftop lounge and restaurant on the Destino Tower rooftop

I find the Disney website for this location confusing because I can never decide if the selection is for the older Cora do Springs area or the new Grand Destino… maybe ask Disney Chat to verify room specifically is part of the Tower.

I've stayed at both and both have their good and bad points. CS is my favorite moderate resort. I call it a deluxe lite. I have not stayed in the tower but love the southwestern vibe of the other buildings. I have stayed in all the areas and don't really find any of them that far from the front but I'm a walker. I love all the food places at CS. POR has that sleepy southern vibe, I'm from Georgia so I get southern vibe pretty much every day when I walk out my door so not really unique for me. I do love all the little courtyards and hidey holes there and love just walking around the resort. You can't go wrong with either but if it were me and all things being equal, I'd go CS.

All of the rooms in Grand Destino are labeled as "Tower". For example, if a room is listed as "Water view standard", that's in the 'old' section. "Tower - water view" is in Grand Destino.

We have stayed both. Stayed at the CSR - Casita rooms (3 days) in March. Stayed at the CSR Destino Tower rooms in December (for 10 days). We prefer the tower rooms. Although similar, we like the location of those rooms, we also prefer the inside hallways. Depending on where you are in the regular CSR rooms - the walk can be substantial to get to where you want to go within the resort. The tower, does cost more, is central to the pools, food court area, several bars, buses, several restaurants.

We really like the rooms at POR ... but much prefer POFQ over Riverside. We stayed in FQ when they first opened - waterview rooms were $99 per night (now I am dating myself). The proximity to the food court, buses, pool, water shuttle was really nice. We stayed in Building 1 and 5. Loved both building. Prefer 5. Riverside is so much larger - very similar to CSR. Theming is a big difference. We are from the SW so CSR is like being at home - not necessarily an escape. Being at POFQ and POR is more of an escape for us. That will be an individual thing.

When booking, there are typically two listings. The first listing that you will see will be the regular type of rooms. The second listing you will see will say Gran Destino Tower. Be sure to scroll all the way through the listings, if you are booking it yourself, to make sure you have the right one. One time I accidently book the regular rooms in the casita areas and thought I was booking the tower. I quickly discovered my mistake and changed it but I would have been so disappointed in myself if I had not discovered it. If you use a TA (listed at top of discussion threads) they will do an excellent job for you and ensure that you get what you want. Doesn't cost you anything and they are great. We have used them previously.
