Coronado vs Caribbean?

We have a family of four, my hubby, myself, son 18yrs old and daughter 8yrs. Also my oldest might be joining us with his fiancée they are both 25yrs.

For us it will always be CSR if our choice is those two, even if it costs more. I don't feel there is any comparison.

For your mostly adult group I would say CSR. Your 8 year old will love the pyramid pool and can be very independent there with you because there is counter service and bar, and they will fill your mug. A decent playground, oversized game board, arcade, bathroom, largest hot tub, beach volleyball. Once my kids hit their teens this became their favorite resort. There is a mature feel that the adults will enjoy without feeling it's overrun with kids. I have stayed there when my kids were young, teens and now adults.

The resort is stunning day or night, has many eating options, extra amenities listed above, central location with excellent bus service. We love the three diverse themes and enjoyable to walk around. It is the third smallest of the moderates (CBR is the largest).

We've stayed at both and prefer CSR, but I think it depends on what's important to you.

For us, transportation is important because we're always back and forth between parks. CSR has fewer bus stops and we just had an overall better experience with their buses.

If resort dining is more important to you, we did think CBR has the edge there. CSR has more options, but all are operated by a third party and we didn't care for it. Food options were different than you'd see elsewhere at WDW, times were different, etc. We just liked CBR's food court better.

They both have great pools, but we enjoyed CSR's more. Also found it less crowded than CBR's, which may be because CSR is a smaller resort. The convention attendees also take up rooms but don't tend to use the amenities like the pool, especially during the day.

CBR. Both are "fine" but Coronado is a convention / business hotel so it doesn't "feel like Disney" to me.... it feels like a Courtyard Marriott. So, it is absolutely fine but I prefer to feel like Disney when at Disney!
I'm worried about this too. My travel agent said it's not like a Disney resort, but I got a great deal at Christmas on a bounce back offer. I'm wondering if I should change it now to CBR? I've been to CBR once and thought it was ok but didn't like the size, I love FQ the best. It's going to just be me and a 14 year old girl. Am I going to feel like I'm at Disney at this resort? or should I go CBR (food isn't that important to us - we usually eat at park) ANY help is appreciated !!!

Tell us more, who is in your party. If you have small children, I would go with Caribbean.
I agree. We love Coronado Springs but when we visited Caribbean Beach resort the kids seemed to be having an amazing time. Coronado Springs is much more adult.

I think the pool at CSR screams Disney. I also don't consider a 14 year old to be a small child, and I don't think the pool at CBR would have as much appeal to her as it would to a 5 year old. I've stayed at both and I think CSR is much nicer than CBR.

I would so do CSR for grounds and the pool. We had some friends stay at CBR in November and they had to request to switch resorts because the rooms were so bad. They reeked of cigarette smoke and mold; they were accommodated and moved to POR, but I wouldn't risk CBR personally.

Coronado Springs is my husbands all-time favorite resort. It sounds as if your travel agent has never stayed there.

I'm wondering what the TA meant by "not like a Disney resort". It is still themed like a Disney resort. It has a great gift shop and food court like a Disney resort. It has a great pool area and a great pool bar like a Disney resort. It even has a spa and a fitness center like a Disney Deluxe resort. The bus service I have found to be better than most Disney resorts and CSR has great bus stop locations at all 4 parks. I'm wondering what the TA thought CSR is missing.

We prefer CBR, but that's just us. No matter what you pick, it'll be amazing regardless! Happy trip planning!!

I have stayed at both and I like CBR better. DH and I are staying there again in April. Not specifically anything wrong with CSR....the pool area was nice, but I definitely liked the theming of CBR better. Kids loved the pool. Personally I think CBR has a bit more of a disney feel to it. Yes there are more stops on the bus but that didn't bother us as we planned accordingly and made sure we had plenty of time to get where we needed to.

Wow... this is great information. Thank you all so much. I feel better about going to CSR now. At the very least... its one more resort I can say I have stayed at. AS mentioned... no matter what... I am going to DisneyWorld!!!!

We've stayed at both and would pick CSR. We had bad experiences with the buses at CBR . We also didn't think the pool was as good as the one at CSR. The pool at CSR has an awesome slide and a huge hot tub!
